AIBU to ask you to convince me I’m being stupid?

So without going on too much, I gained 2 stone in lockdown (like many I suppose) but now I’m faced with the prospect of losing 4 stone. Even pre covid I was never happy with my weight and always fluctuating between 10-12 stone. I feel really galvanised to lose the weight but I turned 29 this year and can’t shake the feeling that losing weight is pointless because the best years are behind me. I know realistically I’m being stupid and my face/body isn’t going to just collapse when I turn 30 but I love an excuse to self sabotage and just keep telling myself it’s a waste of time…

Lockdown ennui/malaise was definitely a thing among people I know. Essentially low level depression. Nothing to plan for or look forward to, so people felt listless and shit.

And beyond stressed out. It happened incredibly easily and I had spent years running, swimming and cycling and these two years have knocked the stuffing out (or should I say in) to me. Now in the position of having to lose it all again. OP it is much much easier to lose in your twenties than later in life! And genuinely - your 30s and onwards can be great. So much less doubt and more knowing who you are and what to do.

Nows the time to do it. I found people I knew started taking care of themselves a bit more in their 30s, started getting into sports and less partying etc and becoming more aware of how they treat their bodies if that makes sense. I certainly looked better in my 30s than my 20s as I was more toned and less hungover. It's also harder to lose weight in your 40s so good to get into good long term habits before then

I'm well old and I look fucking mint

Your best years will be behind you if you don't start taking care of your health. And yes yes skinny is not necessarily healthy, but 4 stones extra weight does not help anybody.
