Once submitted.
Thank you, just having a good panic as I had no idea my passport had expired. Can't afford fast track. Thanks

My adult renewal was done and processed and sent back within 9 days (Liverpool office). I've also applied for DD's first child passport (Hemel Hempstead office) and so far we're at 3 weeks and the only update is that they've received the supporting documents (that took them 9 days to acknowledge receipt from me posting).

Snowflakes1122 · 27/04/2022 14:28

Definitely felt longer than usual when I renewed DCs a couple of months ago. Think it took 5 weeks or so, which wasn’t too bad really.

Emptyandsad · 27/04/2022 14:35

I've been trying to get a damaged passport replaced urgently; I need to book an appointment and then it will take a week after that. So far when I try to book an appointment I get either "no appointments are currently available. Try again tomorrow" or "the website is busy"

So don't rely on being easily able to do fast track

nearlyspringyay · 27/04/2022 15:30

8 days, Dts arrived yesterday. I think it depends where they go to get processed.

Galwayg · 27/04/2022 15:32

My renewal was back within 6 weeks and all of my friends have been around a month

ChessieFL · 27/04/2022 15:32

3.5 weeks here from an application on mid March.

@Minikievs and @poorbuthappy

Did you use the more expensive fast-track online service or the regular service? Thank you.

poorbuthappy · 27/04/2022 15:44

@CannaeRemember standard online service using digital photos.

Bubblepanda · 27/04/2022 15:49

Has been stuck in processing with no updates since 22nd March. Sent to the Newport office😬

CornishGem1975 · 27/04/2022 15:53

Applied on 13th April and it's in the post now apparently.

@CannaeRemember I just did it as a standard £49 online renewal. Took the photo myself on my phone and uploaded that. It actually possibly would've been a bit quicker but the person I asked to verify identity ignored it for about three days 🙄

I ordered mine and the children’s about eight weeks ago, they only took about 2 weeks to arrive after I sent the documents. My passport was a renewal but the kids were first passports.

radness75 · 27/04/2022 19:49

Mine was submitted on 2nd march, still no sign of it. Ive just submitted my daughters today so who knows when we will get hers. Our holiday is not until october thankfully but that has been 8 weeks for mine, so far, which makes me nervous!

napody · 27/04/2022 19:55

Submitted online 15th April, text today to say it’s printed and out for delivery! You have over ten weeks OP, I’d get it submitted ASAP and not waste money on fast track myself.

FloatingAlien · 27/04/2022 19:57

a month for mine - just had it yesterday after sending my old passport on 26th March

lillyrabbit · 27/04/2022 19:59

We applied online at beginning of March for 1 adult renewal, 1 child renewal and 1 new child’s. Took 4 weeks, 5 weeks and 5.5 weeks, respectively. Was quite impressed at how quickly they came as I was expecting to wait much longer! Haven’t received birth certificate back yet though from the new child application so have been chasing that up.

Welshywitch · 27/04/2022 20:00

My rebewal went off on 1st April had it back on 25th so just about 3 weeks, still waiting for the old one to arrive back.

LumpyandBumps · 27/04/2022 20:07

I helped my son apply online for his renewal passport 10/4/2022.
His new one arrived today.
The online tracking was accurate, he got text updates, and considering there were 2 Bank Holidays in the processing period I think the service was excellent.

hellywelly3 · 27/04/2022 20:12

Got mine today. Applied on 12th April, I had submit another photo too so might of been quicker if I didn’t have to do that.

stirling · 27/04/2022 20:27

Thanks again everyone.

I got mine back this morning, took just over 2 weeks.

ForcedOut123 · 27/04/2022 21:55

Just did one and it took just under 3 weeks. Amazing service. Was really worried having read the horror stories. Hemel office.

Soffit · 30/04/2022 12:29

It just shows how many of the reported problems were only scaremongering. Our renewals were way slower five years ago. Anyway, I am excited to have wings again. I'm now contemplating the short list of countries without covid mandates 🙄and trying to find some enthusiasm.

Frazzled2207 · 30/04/2022 12:34

They are telling people to allow 10 weeks but most don’t take that long. Mine just came back in a month. For July you should be ok if you sort it quickly.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 03/05/2022 09:12

I submitted a child renewal online, standard service with digital photo on 18 April (Easter Monday), posted the old passport the same day. Had a message yesterday to say it had been printed (not yet sent out). Hemel Hempstead office. Pretty good service - considering the bank holidays.
