24

Hmm, probably 33/34 but that's because I lost a lot of weight and got fit, so looked and felt better. I'm probably feeling at my absolute worst now as I've put on a lot of weight and my self esteem and confidence is at rock bottom because of it, I feel like just want to blend in to the background.

loveinthe90s · 21/04/2022 09:15

@Daisydoo34 what article did you read stating that woman over 30 are undesirable? I'd love to see a link to that...

Can you not see that's ludicrous bullshit? Or do you really believe that?

Anyway. Please do share the link yeah?

I looked fucking great in my 30s and beyond btw

Nowomenaroundeh · 21/04/2022 09:19

23 then 38 were peaks. I was healthier and fitter than the other years. I looked really good. I'm on the road now again so assume I'll be adding 45 to that list.

AnnieCannyFrangipani · 21/04/2022 09:20

Mid 20s to mid 30s. I recently had to take a photo for an ID card and I was shocked by how old I look now. Not shocked enough to do anything about it. Life is more peaceful and less complicated now that I attract no male interest.

Tibtab · 21/04/2022 09:26

About 25, I was at my slimmest and fittest. My skin was past that teenage spotty stage and it was before I had wrinkles. I’m 35 now, 2 kids under 2 and I’m about 4 stone overweight. I didn’t even appreciate how good I looked before, thought I looked awful.

futuremoneyinbank · 21/04/2022 09:32

This is a strange question really - I felt most youthful and vibrant around 24 but I also had invisible braces and my teeth didn't straighten out. I then had dd at 30 and lost too much weight and wasn't able to shop well for a few years. I've recently got into healthy living and have had a breast augmentation. So now, at 40 I have straighter teeth than in my 20s and bigger boobs (so much more balanced!) but less supple skin, the neck I suppose is starting to show age. It's funny though as I'm more confident in general I don't see these as hugely problematic. I've always had the idea you'll never be this young again, which I guess is a bit like carpe diem.

PaddlingLikeADuck · 21/04/2022 09:40

Between the ages of 19 - 30 I loved the way I looked.

Two pregnancies later and it’s a different story sadly 🙄

PuppyFeet · 21/04/2022 10:11

Early 20’s, although ‘acceptable to my 50’s and was then diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and treatment and side effects has turned me into an elderly lady (at 53) with a hair style that on a good day looks like John Torode! I should be grateful I’m still here but I hate the mirror now….I have learnt to accept my new ‘look’ and put it down to the cost of doing business with cancer.

squiller · 21/04/2022 10:14

I’m 29 now and recently lost 3 stone, still another stone to lose but I don’t think I look very good. I feel like I’m looking old and disheveled, not sure if it’s in my head. I looked really good between 22 and 24.

SophieSoSo · 21/04/2022 10:17

I would say early 20’s, although I didn’t realise it at the time and was crippled with low self esteem, and now.

I’m 36, but I have a little bit of Botox, finally have a good hair cut, my skin is clear after teenage acne and I had braces a few years ago. I also think my ‘don’t give a fuck’ attitude helps!

I am sure you’re still beautiful!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 21/04/2022 10:26

I would say from about 40-45. Had a nice curvy figure, long hair and ok skin. Had ‘grown’ into my looks, if that makes sense? Prior to that I just looked knackered and to be honest I was so busy with kids and work and being in a v unhappy marriage, I didn’t really care how I looked. Once I hit 40 and got divorced, the kids were a bit older and I prioritised myself a bit more, had my hair done, did regular exercise etc.

Once I hit 45 I became peri-menopausal, which created weight gain, and the sleep problems which I’d always had started to really show on my face. So I looked very tired and much heavier than suits me. I tried to address that with HRT and better lifestyle choices, but I now have breast cancer (I’m 48 now) and the combination of stress and treatment mean I look probably the worst I ever have. So that’s fun!!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 21/04/2022 10:27

@PuppyFeet I hear you. Absolutely bloody rubbish isn’t it ☹️

notacooldad · 21/04/2022 10:30

Probably mid 30s after I had my second child.
I hit the gym, had my make up updated, started to grow my hair and was on trend fashion wise. I looked great.
it was a massive turning point for me.

Chely · 21/04/2022 10:32

I'm like a fine wine and getting better with age 😉

Jemimapuddleduk · 21/04/2022 12:47

Age 40 and 41. I’m only 43 but in the last 2 years my skin has gone downhill and I look knackered!
Since I turned 40 both kids were in education full time, I picked up some work again, found a style that worked for me and got physically fit. I’m still ok at 43 but just tired looking and spotty 🤣

thebeespyjamas · 21/04/2022 13:20

I'm 40 and it's literally now because I eat better and have better skin than ever. It would have definitely been earlier had I taken care of myself.

What's up?

Skin?
Hair?
Body?

We all have insecurities but I just like to deal with them gradually. You can't get thin overnight for example, but you can make positive changes that will set you up for the rest of your life.

You can 100% sort out skin issues. I am prone to spots and spend money on prescription skincare now and decent makeup.

I take spirulina for my hair and it really helps.

pinkmoomin · 21/04/2022 14:04

16, 22, 28, and 41. The ages in in my life when I was slim, fit, had energy and confidence. I’m 51 now and my skin is better than in my youth (no more zits) and I have straight teeth, but I’m 2 stone heavier. It’s always weight rather than age that’s stoped me from feeling like I’m looking my best.

5128gap · 21/04/2022 14:18

Its Interesting that despite all the youth worship, the most common reason why we felt we looked our best, and at varying ages, is that we were slim. Which I suppose is heartening if you care about such things, as getting slim and fit, while difficult, is a lot more achievable than stopping or turning back the clock.

Teddah · 21/04/2022 14:21

Probably when I was born and it’s all been downhill since there. I do try to be a decent human being though and not worry too much about my ugliness.

agapanthus1979 · 21/04/2022 15:15

I'm 43 and I'm the happiest I've been with my looks.
Some of that comes from the not-giving-a-shit-what-people-think attitude that comes with age, but also because I'm in decent shape, have embraced my greying hair, and have finally found my look.

Notadramallama · 21/04/2022 15:25

I'm 45, never been fitter, healthier or looked better. Got divorced at 40 and have a new, younger man.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/04/2022 15:29

17 and then again at 30

Wagsandclaws · 21/04/2022 15:29

Now! I'm 50 and I have lost 6 stone - I've had 'help' in the form of some plastic surgery ( lower face and neck lift ) as everything went south and I hated my saggy neck.

But otherwise I look my best now I'd say. My joints are crap though ( thanks menopause ) but I definitely look my best ( just don't quite feel it )
