The following is factual (courtesy to Stewart Lee):

At the start of last week the Conservative party included a child molester, a serial adulterer and compulsive liar, a handsome but morally bankrupt financial whiz-kid and a bully who sends immigrants to Rwanda.

and yet people will vote for them

pennycrayon45 · 17/04/2022 22:32

Yanbu. It is so disgusting.

MoggyCentral · 17/04/2022 22:32

And when Labour was last in power, it was lead by a war criminal. That's politics.

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/04/2022 22:34

Gordon Brown was a war criminal?Shock

and this!
Hoardasurass · 17/04/2022 22:52

What we need is a viable alternative.
Unfortunately Stammers Labour party is even less electable than it was under Corban.
The Greens have forgotten that they are supposed to be all about the science of climate change and instead have become the TRA party.
As for the Liberal Democrats they still haven't recovered from the coalition government and went full on misogynistic death spiral when they called women "non men" in policy.
The SNP under Nichola Stergon makes Boris Johnsons Torys look positively saintly in comparison.
I'm sick and tired of having to spoil my ballot paper and want a party that is trust worthy, is capable of running this country for the many not the few and isn't actively trying to remove my sex based rights and remove all child safeguarding. Really I'm not asking for much and yet none of our parties or current politicians seem capable, as such I think we need some new parties/politicians

josil · 17/04/2022 22:59

Who's the child molester? Confused

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/04/2022 23:01

The Tories have done a total number on English people and they've fallen for it. It's like watching a friend in an abusive relationship.Easter Sad

GreenLunchBox · 17/04/2022 23:02

Who's the handsome one? I can't for the life of me think. It's a bit weird you included that description tbh

I meant Tony Blair, obvs, but I'm happy to include GB as well. Or are you saying he was too thick to know the truth of what was going on when he was at the heart of govt? I quite like Brown and I credit him with more nous than that but it sounds like you don't think much of him?

This. Many of us are politically in no-man’s land and it’s a horrible place to be

The recently resigned Conservative MP for Wakefield.
StepAwayFromGoogling · 17/04/2022 23:07

Yawn. You are superior, OP, in not voting for the Tories. Is that what you were after? I'm sure that under Corbyn, Britain would have been transferred into the utopia of our dreams. So sick of the virtue signalling on AIBU about this at the minute.

There was actually more support from Tory MPs for the Iraq war than Labour ones.

StepAwayFromGoogling · 17/04/2022 23:09

Sadly I don't think they really care about women. It's an easy thing for Boris to say but I don't think our rights are high on the agenda.

Yes because Blair lied about WMD

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/04/2022 23:25

Of course they dont care about women. A week after Starmer Ballard up on "what a women is", PM Johnson refused to say that only women have a cervix.

Our rape conviction rate is lower than Pakistan's.
1.3% of rape cases recorded by police resulted in a suspect being charged (or receiving a summons).

But they weren't at the heart of govt and didn't know that Blair had put together a dossier of exaggerations and lies that the security services were questioning and denying.
