A little light hearted.
Dd1 and Dsd8 got a small egg yesterday from Natuonal Trust egg hunt.
This morning I let them eat it for breakfast alongside some fruit. The rules are chocolate is only allowed for breakfast on Easter and Christmas, and they both went for a long walk today and had a healthy lunch.

Dh can not get his head around this 😁. So AIBU for letting them have chocolate for breakfast two days of the year??

@Stomacharmeleon

I realise this is super odd and I promise I am not derailing but I have never eaten/ tried lamb....once.
Your missing out. Lambs amazing

Oh stomachchameleon, you're missing out! Lamb (when done well … can be tough or fatty if you don't know what you're doing) makes the best roast.
But I also love all types of lamb … shank, steaks, casseroles. It's expensive so we don't have it often enough for my liking.
I even get lamb curry or a lamb kebab from my (excellent) local takeaway.
You should find a way to try it. If you're cooking it yourself my best advice would be the slower cooked, the better.

Well on the face of it chocolate for Easter and Christmas Day seems fine and nothing to get worked up about.
However it’s not just twice a year is it? Lots of children nowadays are having constant treats.
We have an obesity crisis and our children are getting fatter and fatter and will turn into obese adults.
So if it’s an occasional thing then it’s fine, but only you know the answer to that op.

Ex dh was the same... last 2 years have been lovely where we can have chocolate for breakfast without moaning, digs and general unpleasantness.
Enjoy the chocolate for breakfast...its Easter for goodness sake!

HerRoyalHappiness · 17/04/2022 17:18

My kids have eaten nothing but chocolate today... not even a sandwich. Its Easter. They can eat what they want. We'll be back to healthy meals tomorrow.

@LividLaVidaLoca

Tell him to unclench.
🤣🤣🤣

It's my idea of hell but if ds wanted chocolate for breakfast on Easter, I would have no issue.

As it was, we had mcdonalds, hardly any healthier but the coffee was lush.

Jeez I can only imagine being fortunate enough to find this stressful. He sounds hard work!

FangsForTheMemory · 17/04/2022 18:08

He's probably thinking 'I didn't get owt like that when I were a lad' and is feeling a bit resentful.

Next year, give him chocolate for breakfast too.

Longdistance · 17/04/2022 18:17

He’s sound like an utter bore. Today and Christmas Day is made for scoffing chocolate for breakfast.
