Why do some people think the whole street should be subjected to their music/radio taste and why can't they just put headphones on!!
That is all.

Ah yes, gives me throw back memories to my childhood summers on a council estate. Constant bonfires, loud music (drum and bass, happy hardcore, chipmunk style remixes), the smell of weed and drunken shouting instead of just talking to each other.

Don't forget the OAP types who have the lawnmower out every Saturday or Sunday at 8am.

Knobheads.

lapasion · 16/04/2022 16:16

It’s that special time of year when my neighbours get their Bluetooth speakers out. They are several doors down but the bass is making my head hurt. I’m not even sure what they’re listening too. It’s the blandest pop music imaginable. If I wasn’t recovering from covid and feeling weak, I might play a bit of metal back at them. Cradle of Filth anyone?

Gingernaut · 16/04/2022 16:17

I live in a terrace.

Rap and reggae on one side and Eastern European yodel folk singing on the other.

Both until about 2am this morning.

cantthinkofagoodname111 · 16/04/2022 16:34

I dread summer because of exactly this, as soon as I see the 'heatwave coming' news articles my heart sinks. So fed up of being subjected to other people's music 24/7. We can hear neighbours music from down the street. I dread being stuck indoors and having to listen to the constant thump thump thump but then hate going out as I get so anxious on the return journey home waiting to see what the anti social arseholes are doing to ruin my evening once more!

This sounds awful Sad what is wrong with people? Hope you managed to get some sleep.

@FreezyFreezy

Who wants to wear headphones when in the garden on a gloriously sunny day with friends over?!

I'm in my garden with the speaker on (by myself at the moment). Before you all start yelling at me and calling me selfish etc, a) I don't give a shit and b) it's not loud: you can't hear it at the top of the garden.

By saying you don’t give a shit you prove you are selfish. No one else needs to tell you that.
greenbirdsong · 16/04/2022 16:44

Totally agree!
People can listen to music without blaring it out for the whole street to have to listen too.
But noone seems to have heard of a volume button on my street! Hmm

PinkSyCo · 16/04/2022 16:44

Here we go, a bit of nice weather and every one starts whinging on about a bit of noise ruining their precious peace. I must be the only human who actually likes the sounds of summer be it birds tweeting, other peoples’s music, kids playing and dare I say even the odd barking (not incessantly though and DEFINITELY not at night!). When did we become such a nation of intolerant old miseries?

Except people can't enjoy the sounds of Summer because they can't hear it because of selfish people and their music 🤷🏻‍♀️
Florenz · 16/04/2022 16:49

The programme is soon to be cancelled so you won't have to hear "That's when good neighbours become good.... friends" for very much longer.

NETSRIK · 16/04/2022 16:50

@PinkSyco And what's wrong with dogs barking all night? Come on, stop being such a misery

HeDidWhattt · 16/04/2022 16:53

If you want silence, move to a field.

It’s a small section in the whole year, as the sun hardly shines really!

Wtfidiot · 16/04/2022 16:54

Our neighbours have had the music pelting for past 2 days via YouTube so we can hear all the ads too!!! I don’t mind if it’s for a couple of hours in the day but here it’s constant 😩😩

NETSRIK · 16/04/2022 16:55

So people have to move to a field to avoid selfish people. Said, no doubt, by a selfish person.

Yes, and I want to sit in my garden and enjoy it without listening to the music choices of three doors down.
Mumofsend · 16/04/2022 16:57

My neighbours do it 3-4 times a week all year round. I can tolerate the actual music but my whole house thuds from the ridiculous base setting.

They've been warned before so it goes off 10pm sharp but it's still 12/11/10 hours a time.

Summer Garden music alone wouldn't bother me. I just want my house to stop thudding!

user1471538283 · 16/04/2022 16:58

It is so selfish. My ex horrible neighbors would play music so loud I could hear it inside my house and you could hear it from across the street. It would be for at least 10 hours a day. Then their shouting on top of it.

Warm days made me panic because I knew they would be out and it affected my mental health even after I'd left. What I did find out though was that they hated anyone else making noise and they hated being called out on their behaviour.

So I would say they are not your friends and they rely on you being polite. So tell them to stop it. Or put your music on louder.

If you live near people you need to be more considerate not less.

JudgeRindersMinder · 16/04/2022 16:59

The best thing about moving house last year was no longer being subjected to DJ Stevie Steve next door. Detached houses and with all our doors and windows closed we couldn’t get peace from him.
We live in a better neighbourhood now, people are considerate

user1471538283 · 16/04/2022 17:00

For all those calling us miseries they should swop. I bet after only weeks of 10 hour sessions of really loud often thumping music they would change their minds!

PinkSyCo · 16/04/2022 17:02

@PinkSyco And what's wrong with dogs barking all night? Come on, stop being such a misery

Well now you’re just being a silly sausage aren’t you? Easter Hmm

AlisonDonut · 16/04/2022 17:02

I'm currently in my large garden, our neighbours are both at the main homes, but can't hear my music even when they are here, and I'm playing Metallica. Grin

There's your answer OP.

JorisBonson · 16/04/2022 17:11

I think there's a difference between having a speaker playing quietly near you, and someone blaring out a stereo from their house. Which is what I have to deal with.

hesbeen2021 · 16/04/2022 17:13

I live next door to six students. The next house are numerous asylum seekers. In over a year the asylum seekers had one party, the students none. I can hear ordinary music from indoors which is fine and completely tolerable. Anything else is anti social and anyone who plays music outdoors in an area is ignorant
