This is currently me Confused
Very worried and tearful and want to prepare myself the best I can
Anyone been here? Would you be called in to see a consultant if the results of the biopsy were clear?

I've always been called back for the results after a breast biopsy and I'm into double figures now.

So far all have been benign.

Good luck.

OhSOconfused123 · 13/04/2022 11:43

Thank you all so so so much
It’s an abscess
The inflammation surrounding it possibly as I’ve had Covid recently had caused the confusion
I need to come back in a fortnight to see if it needs draining or not after staying on the antibiotics but really really really so relieved and grateful to you all here Smile

@OhSOconfused123 Oh, that's fantastic! I'm delighted for you.

(Well, not delighted for that you've got an abscess, obviously Confused but delighted that it's nothing more sinister than that!)

It's horrible waiting for news about that kind of thing, and totally understandable that you were worried. Enjoy the sense of relief, and hope you have a lovely afternoon now!

heyday · 13/04/2022 12:13

I was called back after having a breast biopsy...it was a negative result but they just wanted to see how I was and talk through the results so no, a call back doesn't definitely mean bad news.

707smile · 13/04/2022 12:17

That's great news Ohsoconfused123! I'm so sorry you've had to go through this and for your nasty abscess and infection- you must be feeling really unwell with that without all of the fear of IBC.

itsgettingweird · 13/04/2022 12:18

Funnily enough your second to last post I was going to suggest it sounded like an abscess (I get them a lot all over!)

So glad it is and it's sorted.

Hope you get better soon

Thank goodness for that Thanks

uggmum · 13/04/2022 15:52

I had a follow up appointment after mine.

I just thought it was a standard thing.

In my case it was negative for cancer.

Thinking2041 · 14/04/2022 00:37

Having an abscess isn’t great but in context.. that is wonderful news!
What a big relief.
I’m so pleased they managed to see you today
You can have a nice long weekend recovering but not worrying/panicking/being in purgatory

OhSOconfused123 · 14/04/2022 08:52

Thank you all so much!
I felt so tearful all day yesterday as all the emotions from the waiting suddenly surfaced
I am very very grateful for the NHS Flowers

That’s a relief - so pleased it’s nothing sinister! I was on your original thread and was wondering how you got on. Hope the antibiotics continue to work their magic and it all clears up quickly Flowers

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/04/2022 19:03

Wonderful news OP! 💐

Treelines · 15/04/2022 19:15

So relieved for you, OP. I was in your position a few months ago, and it was truly horrible. I have health anxiety anyway, so… I phoned to get my tests as I wasn’t given either a call back or a letter within the timeframe. The consultant was on holiday, but the secretary had just written my letter so was allowed to read it out to me over the phone. Turned out to be fat necrosis on the site of a previously very large cyst.
