I think she meant that Britney’s peers who were all marketed in the same way in the same era, have all moved on, whereas she seems to be stuck where she was before it all went wrong for her.
Thanks for explaining it better, it is exactly what I was trying to get across.

Madonna doesn't do the same dance move for hours she is always styled for the shoot, totally different to what Britney is doing.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 12/04/2022 14:38

Even if it was there is no law stating that as soon as you turn 40 you must do something different with your career
Of course not, most people progress.

and that if you don't you have mental health problems. Don't be ridiculous.

No didn't mean that if you don't you have mental health problems.
Britney has mental health problems that is clear.
Nothing to do with doing something different at 40.

Madonna has had a huge amount of cosmetic and surgical intervention. Her business, certainly, but one could argue that it's less mentally healthly than how Britney Spears is living. She also posts a lot of far, far more provocative imagery such as crotch shots, exposed breasts etc, again her lookout but it makes a nonsense of tutting at Britney Spears' behavour at more than twenty years younger.

She's also nothing like Nikki Grahame from Big Brother - yes she's a bit childlike but she's a healthly weight, in fact she looks overall physically very healthly to me which would indicate good self-care.

I’m another who doesn’t think she seems a well woman and find her social media posts discomforting. Doesn’t mean I wish her any ill, I most certainly don’t.
Have you seen Madonna's IG lately??

SemperIdem · 12/04/2022 14:57

@C25kBecky

Madonna is not a peer of Britney Spears nor did I mention her. I’d say she too is an example of someone whose social media profile could do with better management as it often makes uncomfortable viewing.

She arguably doesn't need to "progress" career wise if what she's doing is making millions of pounds.

If you are uncomfortable viewing it then don't! It is none of your business.

Giraffesandbottoms · 12/04/2022 15:53

I honestly can’t believe people think the spinning and bizarre fashion show videos are not a cause for concern.

Giraffesandbottoms · 12/04/2022 15:55

I wouldn’t describe Madonna as a well woman either btw, based on her behaviour. And yes Kanye West is also extremely unwell but we do live in a society where the primary caregiver is usually
The mother. So fortunately Kim K is responsible for the children. If Kanye were going for sole custody I’m sure everyone would be saying “this is not a good idea”.

Perhaps not everyone is narrow-minded and judgemental though. She is not hurting anyone by dancing in videos on Instagram including herself so why is it a "cause for concern"?

She’s a performer. Her life has been twirling around on parade.
Giraffesandbottoms · 12/04/2022 16:18

@dianthus101

I think it’s reasonable to be concerned and have an opinion when she’s going to have a baby. MN seem to think exercising the right to an opinion makes someone the devil. Judgemental isn’t the insult you think it is and I think it’s perfectly fine to think her behaviour is off and speculate on how her child rearing will pan out (particularly given that this is a second attempt)

Menora · 12/04/2022 16:23

I look at her IG and she doesn’t appear to come across as unwell at the moment. She is a little kooky but that might just be how she is now, I mean she’s not exactly had the freedom to grow into being an adult like the rest of us have. I wish her all the best and hope it works out.

I didn't say that you are narrow-minded and judgemental in order to insult you though. I was just explaining that not everybody is like you and that is why not everyone thinks dancing on instagram is a sign that her children should be taken away from her. She dancing for a living fgs.

Siameasy · 12/04/2022 16:29

Her eyes look sad, manic and I get a bad vibe from her. I feel she is unstable

In a different time, I suspect that this is how women ended up in the ducking stool.

On what planet is Madonna not well known?!?!
Anon778833 · 12/04/2022 16:33

It would seem to me that her family have been controlling and abusive since she was a child.

What's uncomfortable about it?

That she isn't sitting at home in her slippers knitting?

Giraffesandbottoms · 12/04/2022 16:43

@C25kBecky

I said “well”, not well known!

@dianthus101

Calling me narrow minded and judgemental for holding a different opinion than you (bearing in mind you know nothing about my life or experience re mental health) is hypocritical in the extreme!

I am not calling you narrow minded or judgemental for "holding a different opinion". I am calling you narrow minded an judgemental for saying that you can't believe others don't think dancing in videos on Instagram "is a cause for concern"

BulletTrain · 12/04/2022 17:03
@BulletTrain the Madonna collaboration came after the split with sad Justin lol
Even when they kissed on stage the camera deliberately cut to him to capture his reaction to make a better story
She was never really Americas golden girl , people were obsessed with her sex life, her body, her age from the time the rolling stone pics were done
Yeah, well, I completely disagree. Everyone talks about her like she's always been a bit of a loose cannon and mentally ill, a bit like Lindsay Lohan, but she seemed to do absolutely fine until around 2003. Deepest apologies I was out on the perfumes by 2 years Grin

EmeraldShamrock1 · 12/04/2022 17:12

Britney looks vacant her eyes look manic, her demeanor is a cause for concern.
Plenty of people dance on IG without any cause for concern.

I was just explaining that not everybody is like you and that is why not everyone thinks dancing on instagram is a sign that her children should be taken away from her. She dancing for a living fgs.
I don't think anyone wants to see her DC taken from her, she has been through so much already.
I hope she has a good support network and a good DH, not faux concern I'd genuinely love her to be well.

KTheGrey · 12/04/2022 17:14

I hope she has a better experience and is allowed to be a parent this time round.

CSIblonde · 12/04/2022 17:18

She still sees a therapist weekly not three times a week as per the Conservatirship. Its too soon to know how she really is, as she has 12 years of trauma & coercive control to unpack. She's wanted a 3rd child for years & hopefully now she's had a few celebratory get away breaks the pregnancy is a sign of long term happier times ahead. She's also been experimenting vocally on Instagram, not using the baby voice but her original v powerful deeper toned vocal ( if you look up her & her voice at 15 it's almost Broadway musical powerful, she can really 'belt' the power notes as they call it.
