in August? DC will be 15 and 18. After 2 years of no holidays, I don't even know where to start looking. Would love some inspiration from others.

Mexico appeals a lot too @Badgerstmary. Where did you go and who did you book with?

@ACandleOnAGinBottle re Bali, we have Intrepid’s Beautiful Bali tour booked then we’ll have a few extra nights at the end. We are in Australia so have been to Bali previously and are more interested in the culture and scenery than beaches and busy spots. It’s easy to book things to do via whatever you find on TripAdvisor but we had Intrepid credit to use up from a cancelled trip to Morocco from covid, so figured we’d do Bali with it. July is a great time of year to go re weather too.

If you are interested in cycling tours, or family type stuff, Intrepid tour worldwide and it might be worth checking out their itineraries.

Italy. Lake Maggiore. My friend has a holiday house there.

We’re doing a hotel in Spain with on site water park in may, July we’re off to Tenerife near Siam park.

Port Aventura pre covid was a good holiday, jet2 included tickets in a nearby hotel for a lot less than staying on site. It was such a good holiday we did it twice!

MONROE hi we stayed at Playa del Car in Mexico in an amazing hotel called Iberostar Quetzal. We predominantly went on organised trips but also walked from the hotel to the nearest town where there was a fantastic market. There was so much to do in the area; Xcaret- a cultural experience with animals, lazy rivers, traditional crafts, shows……, swimming with whale sharks, Coba-ruins you can climb up, Tulum- ruins, Chitzen Itza- ruins, abseiling into underground lakes, cenotes, where there were zip wires…. The hotel was on the beach but perfect as it was not in the middle of nowhere.

DS 13 & 19 got to choose our next holiday and they picked the Maldives, so off we go on Friday. DS19 girlfriend coming too . We are all so excited. I absolutely love going on holiday with them, they are all such good company and have us laughing constantly. Did I mention I was excited Grin

We are going to Majorca in August. We are having a week in Scotland in May (east neuk of fife) and probably New York or Paris in October.

@Badgerstmary thank you, I will take a look at that. I am looking for next year as I think that may be our last chance for a big family holiday. Although with all the cost of living rises, we might be looking at another week in the lakes instead.
