Party bag ideas

DontLookBackInAnger1 · 10/04/2022 13:58

Please can I steal your party bag ideas?!

I'm wanting to avoid the sweet cones if possible (they're great, just had loads recently).

4yr old party, 20-30 children. Max budget £2/child.

Thank you!

Cake balloon pen done

Jelly0naplate · 10/04/2022 14:18

The works do 10 books for £10, book and a slice of cake job done!

womaniswomaniswoman · 10/04/2022 14:21

Don't bother, nobody will care , parents will be grateful for no bags of plastic tat, and you'll save money. Just give away cake as kids leave.

Vsirbdo · 10/04/2022 14:23

I went to Asda and bought the multipacks of little bubble wands and tiaras/crowns and going to buy some haribo and put a slice of cake in and done.

dollydimple123 · 10/04/2022 14:26

Cake, bubbles, pen, packet of haribos or a treat size chocolate

Ripasso · 10/04/2022 14:31

I’ve bought packs of hot wheels cars 10 for £10 and given one or two each.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 10/04/2022 14:33

Is just wouldn’t bother, most people I know don’t want to give them or their kids to get one

Hadalifeonce · 10/04/2022 14:33

Slice of the birthday cake.

Chikapu · 10/04/2022 14:34

Just do cake, its unlikely you'll get anything that isn't tat for two quid a child.

JellyBunny · 10/04/2022 14:37

I think books are good

A book and a cake is fine

No tat / waste

You don't even need to put in a bag!

Annoyedandirritated · 10/04/2022 14:38

Amazon do good huge mixed packs of party toys

Stath · 10/04/2022 14:38

Packet of seeds each. Cress seeds and sunflowers always seem popular.
We’ve sometimes used cheap plant pots (multipack so pennies) and filled them with a pack of seeds, stickers, haribo and a slice of cake.
Kids can eat the cake then decorate the pot (if they/parents can be arsed) then plant the seeds.
Write their name on a wooden lolly stick so the can use it as a plant label too.

It looks like you’ve made loads of effort but it’s easy and cheap.

VyeBrator · 10/04/2022 14:39

Bubbles, pencils, crayons, keyrings (to attach to school bag zip), stickers (they all love those!).

Yeah you'll get a few parents who would apparently be 'grateful if you didn't bother' but it's not about them. The bag is for the child.

SummerInSun · 10/04/2022 14:42

Always, always book bought as a cheap multipack. With a packet of haribos or lollipop. No one wants the cheap plastic crap and the kids just want the sweets

DaisyDozyDee · 10/04/2022 14:44

When’s it for? If it’s this week, a basic Easter egg each would work.

liveforsummer · 10/04/2022 14:44

When's the party? If it's any time soon get a box of small Easter eggs from a cash and carry and give them one each. I do that for DD's birthday - it's 1st December and we give out a chocolate advent calendar

NWQM · 10/04/2022 14:48

If its soon that think about Easter Eggs. My 2 loved it when they got at a party. There are some great deals and eggs for £1 each.

melj1213 · 10/04/2022 14:56

Took my nephew to a birthday party yesterday and instead of party bags every child got an Easter Egg - one of Cadbury ones you can pick up from most supermarkets for about 99p

Other than that, the best alternative I've seen is at a friend's child's party. My friend bought the 10 for £10 books from The Works. To save arguments over who got what book she wrapped them all in cheap wrapping paper (she may or may not have had her older child wrap them all the night before to get out of being grounded early) and wrote a number on each one. When the kids were leaving the party they picked a number out of a hat and were given that numbered wrapped book and a piece of cake. The kids were happy because they all wanted a turn to "win a present", it made a book and cake seem like the best thing ever and nobody had to deal with a load of plastic tat/more sweets.

Previously I've done
Grow your own dinosaur egg
Pencil case and pencil
Seeds
Yoyo's
Those fake tatoos always go down well.
Cups / water bottle

This.

Think of the planet & the environment.

Give them a packet of pollinator friendly seeds to plant, if you must. Most households don't need more crap.

And why train children that socializing involves tat?? Surely they can have fun with friends sans crappy junk that will end up forgetten within 48 hours.

Rosser · 10/04/2022 15:09

This week a 99p Easter egg. Job done.

Cocodreams · 10/04/2022 15:13

Book sets from Costco - we always get these but you need to be a member, or a guest of a member to get in. Alternatively, The Works or even some pound shops do decent books or colouring books.

AperolWhore · 10/04/2022 15:15

I’ve just made ten up for a small party we are having and have included, bubble wands, finger puppets, a book and a decorate your own Easter egg kit. It worked out at £4 per bag.
