Alcohol. Massive con imo.

rc22 · 03/04/2022 20:37

Also magazines which I probably only read around a quarter of. Thinking of giving up having nails and facials done as it's frivolous but I've been going to the same beautician for years. She's self employed and I know she found covid tough so I would feel bad about taking my business away from her unless I really have to.

JanisMoplin · 03/04/2022 20:38

Coffees out.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 03/04/2022 20:39

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Lanson champagne
Expensive underwear
Kurt Geiger shoes

Comedycook · 03/04/2022 20:39

In my childfree days I would fake tan a lot...I think I would spend at least £50 a month on st Tropez products! Also I would buy myself a magazine several times a week.

SpringLobelia · 03/04/2022 20:39

Things about the magazines (I used to buy the home and living centred ones) is that a number of times I would buy the same magazine twice in a month and not realise because they all look the same, and they have the same things in them.

Cryalot2 · 03/04/2022 20:40

Magazines, magazines and kindle books.
Makeup. Clothes. Yes I have too many but they all fit me at some stage.
Dog and all its needs.

Flapjackninja · 03/04/2022 20:40

Takeaways, have them far to often that it's not enjoyable anymore. It's like a catch 22 tho stressed at work then get home late can't be bothered to cook, order a takeaway. Then feel fat and sluggish the next day rinse and repeat.

Whilst I'm not happy about the cost of living increases this should force me to reduce the takeaways and maybe start walking more.

London Taxis
London lunches
Cocktails
Theatre tickets
Expensive hair colouring
Coffees out everyday
Cigarettes when I was in 20’s
Sports cars in 20’s
Plastic surgeries because of crashed sports car 😢

If only I’d been a cycling enthusiast

DontLookBackInAnger1 · 03/04/2022 20:43

Pointless home decor stuff. Now I tend to buy more what I need.

Holidays before kids, we would go on an all inclusive most years. Now it feels like a real luxury that I just can't justify.

Definitely clothes. I would buy new all the time without batting an eyelid. Now I mainly buy for the kids, then, when my clothes get holes etc, I finally but myself something.

BrutusMcDogface · 03/04/2022 20:44

I still blow an embarrassing amount of money on Starbucks and the like 🙄

It’s a bit scary how much money we fritter away and it’s going to bite us on the I’m soon.

TerraNovaTwo · 03/04/2022 20:44

McDonalds after DC swimming lessons (currently not doing lessons either- thanks Covid!)

Cleaner once a week.

Driving lessons- disrupted by, you guessed it, Covid! Now too expensive to run a car anyway.

Bite us on the BUM FFS autocorrect!

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 03/04/2022 20:45

Drugs and gig tickets. Easily £100+ on a night out. (I miss it!)

FelicityFlops · 03/04/2022 20:45

30 or so years ago I used to spend a lot on glossy magazines, but I stopped when the content and quality of writing deteriorated.
In addition I probably don't fit the demographic of most of them any more.
If there is a magazine for educated, good cooks, who like to travel I would be interested. I have tried CN Traveller online, some things were interesting, but the majority not so much.

Friedaseyebrow · 03/04/2022 20:45

Taxis and Class As before I became a model citizen!

Nitflux · 03/04/2022 20:46

I’m a London black taxi gal too. I used to use the Hailo app (like Uber but for black cabs and now called MyTaxi I think) so often that they sent me a leather Aspinal credit card holder as a loyalty gift 😂

Mary46 · 03/04/2022 20:46

Magazines candles! I stopped buying Red its nearly 8 euros now! Clothes just making do. I do like nice gym gear though

QueenLagertha · 03/04/2022 20:49

For dying your brows at home buy these from Amazon

APRAISE PROFESSIONAL EYELASH & EYEBROW - TINT No.3 DARK BROWN 20ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01KYQN812/ref=cmswwrcppapiii1B2THPSJ1DPCB4ZFQSAQ?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Julienne | Tint Lash Brush + Dappen Mixing Dish | Eyelash Eyebrow Tinting Tint https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B096SRN8JX/ref=cmswwrcppapiiiGS0R045SRE2XHPYMVNHS?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Apraise Liquid Tint Developer 50ml by Apraise https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M2DEKYN/ref=cmswwrcppapiii3VQFPKWZ043ZBYPWPFB5?encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Will last way longer than buying the eyelure kits. I use an eyebrow brush when applying so I don't even need to put Vaseline on the skin to prevent staining.

Womblesmurf · 03/04/2022 20:49

Designer jeans. I used to spend £80-£100 on a pair, and that was often outlet prices. What an idiot 🙄

GeneLovesJezebel · 03/04/2022 20:50

Highlights.
Grew them out in lockdown and much prefer my own colour. Used to go blonde for DH.

AlJalilia · 03/04/2022 20:50

Skincare, make-up, breakfast AND lunch from Pret-A-Manger, lunch break trips to H&M, dinner and bottle of wine from M&S, black cab home when I couldn’t be fucked getting the tube... no wonder I was always broke Grin.

Tiddlywinkly · 03/04/2022 20:51

Magazines. Rubbish quality clothes. I've probably wasted thousands.Blush
