A pint in a pub.

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 03/04/2022 19:49

Coffee out, I used to get at least 2 Starbucks a day plus snacks but can’t afford it now.

duvetdayforeveryone · 03/04/2022 19:51

New clothes. The price difference new and 2nd hand is insane!

Timeturnerplease · 03/04/2022 19:52

Eating out and nice holidays. Not much fun in either now we have a 3yo and 8mo, but would be nice to have the option still!

DogsAndGin · 03/04/2022 19:54

Molton Brown

MissyB1 · 03/04/2022 19:57

Coffees out - every single time I was out anywhere!
Expensive Wine/ Prosecco

Those days are gone.

hightimer · 03/04/2022 20:00

Full head of highlights.

Dates in London. £20 for a train ticket? Fuck that.

hennybeans · 03/04/2022 20:06

Yes to magazines. Now a combo of Instagram, MN, and the NY Times provides way more entertainment and leisure reading.

Birthday and Christmas cards. Used to buy the nicest personalised "Mum" or "sister" cards and post first class. Now I get DD13 to draw a nice card and hand it over in person. If I never see you in person you're probably not going to get a card from me.

SevernEleven · 03/04/2022 20:08

Nail extensions
Visits to A-list recommended dietician, skincare specialist, brow specialist in London.
Skincare and make up bought on a whim
Books I thought I should read
Eating out
Travel
Stationery
Soft furnishings
Kitchen electrical gadgets

Hairbrush123 · 03/04/2022 20:09

Skincare. I used to spend £££ on so many skincare brands to have perfect skin. I now use Charcoal Theory (£8 from Waitrose/Boots), lasts for months and my skin has never been better!

VaddaABeetch · 03/04/2022 20:10

Expensive high heels that got worn a few times. I’ll never wear heels again

Lemon221 · 03/04/2022 20:10

@110APiccadilly

Flying lessons. (I hope one day I'll do it again, but it'll probably have to be once the kids are grown up!)
Wow that’s so cool!

Also magazines, still read the occasional one on my pressreader account that is free with my library card.

Make up. I got out of the habit in lockdown and never started again.

Expensive instant coffee. We now buy ground coffee from Lidl and it works out so much cheaper but also nicer.

greenbirdsong · 03/04/2022 20:14

Getting my hair cut and blow dried every 6 weeks at the hairdressers.
During the lockdowns it made me realise what a lot of money it was just for someone to trim half a centimetre off the ends and I didn't miss it. Watched some YouTube videos and now trim my own ends.
Also nails, I used to have gel nails every 4 weeks but now do them myself at home.

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 03/04/2022 20:16

@Notwashingup

Flowers, just have lots of plants now.
Same here, actually much prefer houseplants too!
DistressedDamson · 03/04/2022 20:17

Drugs

Ohfgsnotagain · 03/04/2022 20:18

Black cabs to get me around London.
Pret porridge/lunches/salad pots
Pub lunches
After work drinks
Theatre tickets

God I miss my working life before children. I miss my salary!

BellePeppa · 03/04/2022 20:20

@marmitegirl01

Magazines. Many many magazines 🤦‍♀️
Me too. I used to have delivered Vogue, American Vogue, Marie Claire, Home magazines etc. I can’t stand magazines now and don’t even read them when they’re free in a waiting room.
Mummytobe93 · 03/04/2022 20:20
  • Getting my nails & eyebrows done
  • Costa coffee
  • cinema (tickets + snacks)
  • holidays
  • food from Waitrose, M&S etc
  • eating out
  • new clothes for any occasion
Xpologog · 03/04/2022 20:27

5* hotels, my weakness.
And I once booked Eurostar first class because I fancied lunch in Paris in the antiques market.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 03/04/2022 20:31

Also interested in what people use to tint their own eyebrows!

LovelyQuiche · 03/04/2022 20:31

Cigarettes when I was at uni
To be fair they were only £3 something for 20 at the time

Suzi888 · 03/04/2022 20:34

Bags.
Tiny, useless, extortionate bags…
