Not very clear when in April it's due, my bill comes out on the 15th for example of this month, so would I need to wait until after then?

SockFluffInTheBath · 01/04/2022 17:35

Apparently it has to be paid by the end of September 🙄

Jonny1265 · 01/04/2022 17:40

MIne have told me I've had a change in circumstances and have withdrawn my single person reduction for all last year and this year! So I supposedly now owe them around £500 for last year and have an increased bill for this year. I don't think so........

@SockFluffInTheBath

Apparently it has to be paid by the end of September 🙄
Only after they've verified your bank account details...
onemouseplace · 01/04/2022 17:46

Just checked my local authority page and this is what they are saying:

For direct debit instalment dates 1, 5 and 10 April 2022 payment are expected to be made at the end of April 2022.
For direct debit instalment dates 15, 20 and 25 April 2022 payment are expected to be made during May 2022

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 01/04/2022 17:46

In Scotland I got my council tax bill three weeks ago with the £150 applied as a credit then the remaining balance split over the direct debits for the year as normal. The £150 credit makes the direct debit £6 a month less than last year because we had a 5% CT rise. Whoop.

ididntevennotice · 01/04/2022 17:47

@Cockle1234

It is entirely possible. In Scotland it's being applied directly.

Ilikewinter · 01/04/2022 17:47

Just been on my councils website and it states it will be paid at some point between April and September, if you dont pay by DD you need to download a form .... but thats not available yet. Absolute frickin joke.

Onanotherdiet38 · 01/04/2022 17:48

I'm just going to have to forget about it for now I think! Sounds like it won't be here for a while ..

How do you know if you are entitled to the rebate?

Onanotherdiet38 · 01/04/2022 17:50

If you are in bands A-D and pay your bill by direct debit

OP posts:
OutlookStalking · 01/04/2022 17:55

I pay 1st month amd was hoping to get it today too. Now realise it was optimistic!

brainhurts · 01/04/2022 17:55

My council say they have not received the funds from central government, and have until September to make payment.

skyeisthelimit · 01/04/2022 17:57

twinsetandpearl everyone in a band A-D gets the rebate. If you pay by Direct Debit it should go directly into your bank account (England), if you don't pay by DD then you will be invited to fill in a form to claim it.

VampireMoney · 01/04/2022 17:59

I pay on 15th and was hoping I'd have it by the end of the month but it looks like I was naively thinking they'd actually give us it in April.

Chickychoccyegg · 01/04/2022 17:59

Mine has been taken off this year's bill rather than receiving £150, so £15 off a month, which is quite disappointing, I'm in Scotland.

Chickychoccyegg · 01/04/2022 18:01

Oh yes forgot the rise in c.tax anyway,so I've saved around £10 a month, would much rather have had £150.

MrsJackRackham · 01/04/2022 18:06

@cockle1234 that is exactly what my LA has done. I'm getting £15 a month reduction. Just because it's not happening to you doesn't mean it's not happening.

ICantRideABike · 01/04/2022 18:07

I haven’t told DH about the rebate Wink

Onanotherdiet38 · 01/04/2022 18:07

I'll expect it sometime in September!

Does he not read or watch the news?
Chely · 01/04/2022 18:32

No time frame given by our council. Not bothered though as it will be going straight in to my rainy day fund.

Tippexy · 01/04/2022 18:40

It is a rebate @WinniesHunny…

LampLighter414 · 01/04/2022 18:51

Mine isn't starting to pay out until May and says it should be done by the end of June... Must be one of the slowest in the country
