hello all

inspired by a reddit thread, does anyone have any juicy work drama going on right now

OP posts:
NorthSouthcatlady · 23/03/2022 17:19

@JayniSummers you got me!

NorthSouthcatlady · 23/03/2022 17:25

Not currently. Current team seem to well behaved

Previous workplaces have been Hollyoaks level proportions. Highlight being colleague A going away on a romantic weekend with colleague B. Colleague A posts pictures all over Facebook. His wife sees but colleague A is not his wife Confused. She got moved departments after that escapade. Ok it was a stupid thing to do (she is thick) at face value but l also wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to force his hand about telling the wife. But he was the married one, not her

Hoppinggreen · 23/03/2022 17:26

Me and DH both work from home
He rebooted our router without giving me any warning.
T’was all very dramatic

HappyMiddleChild · 23/03/2022 17:26

I asked to move desks as the air conditioning was blowing right on me and it was cold.

TooManyPJs · 23/03/2022 17:26

@JayniSummers

I'll go I work in this team , the weirdest bunch of people , there's drama ALL THE TIME one female , think really glamourous type , hair never out of place , comes from a very naice rich family but takes ridiculous risks and flirts outrageously with another collegue who acts like the leader ( he isn't we are all peers) he's harmless enough bit too good looking for his own good .hes also a flirt but we think hes possibly in the closet... the worst in the team is a bloke who is a complete stoner , totally under the influence, does nothing but get the munchies , scruffy as hell, is allowed to bring his pathetic dog to work ....who has huge anxiety issues

Anyway , we drive round in a van , solving mysteries and shit.......

😂😂😂
Ancientbride · 23/03/2022 17:27

My colleague accidentally put an angry face onto a Teams chat comment from our boss Grin

Jonny1265 · 23/03/2022 17:31

Yes and it's really juicy but it would be outing to post it🙄

MichaelAndEagle · 23/03/2022 17:31

Where i used to work someone once stormed in to confront his wife about her affair with a work colleague, in front of everyone. She was having an affair and everyone knew it.
He turned to the boss who tried to diffuse and shouted 'what are you going to do about xx fucking my wife?!'
It was only a small office, I've never been so stunned in my life!

Fernandina · 23/03/2022 17:33

Ooh... let me see.

Only one really, a new colleague has suddenly invented a spurious reason to be off sick today.

Notanotherwindow · 23/03/2022 17:44

There are litter wardens in our carpark at the moment. We're all lined up along the front windows, watching it kick off.

incognitoforthisone · 23/03/2022 17:46

I think you meant to post this on Twitter and hashtag it 'journorequest'.

The only thing approaching a small scale work drama where I work is some weirdness around dress codes, whereby a few managers seem to have a completely different interpretation of our very vague dress code to everyone else's and have now been told that no, they cannot tell their team members what kind of shoes to wear.

Actually, there are always a lot of Mumsnetters who are very 1950s about office dress codes; perhaps them and the managers are the same people.

Vango · 23/03/2022 18:03

Someone sat in my chair yesterday and moved it to its lowest setting. I nearly chinned myself with my own knees when I first sat down this morning.

BookkeeperBobby · 23/03/2022 18:14

I'd have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those BASTARD meddling kids.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 23/03/2022 18:15

I work on the features desk for a downmarket national newspaper, and whilst I'm out all day interviewing fat women who got thin, my colleague sits around all day reading reddit and parenting websites. God knows how she's not been sacked yet.

So that must make you a geeky, plump girl with glasses!
Marmite27 · 23/03/2022 18:24

Just baking wars when we all go to the office for meetings (about once a month) EVERYONE bakes and is annoyed that everyone else has had the same idea.

We had coconut jam sponge, Victoria sponge and lemon drizzle today. They were all very nice I have to say Wink

Sorry.

lljkk · 23/03/2022 18:29

One of The blokes in office always seems to have houseowner dramas. This or that is falling down or his partner is hyperventilating about something house-owner related. It's exhausting listening to it (long phone calls).

I have a theory that my boss is deliberately shutting me out from certain projects. A few years ago I listed several small projects I was involved in (most have had success since) to which he wrote something like "that's all very exciting but I really want you to concentrate on X" -- after which he promptly gave me little information or support about X so I could do very little work on X, so good thing I had the other projects in my workstream.

I have no idea why he shuts me out because I have zero ambition to compete with him for promotion etc. Anyway, I now tell him very little about what I'm doing, although it will come out in annual reports (not that I expect him to acknowledge that I'm doing 2x as much as him on half the salary).

#Baffled.
And before someone says "It's a man thing" -- I have had other male bosses who were supportive & excited for me in same situation; this is a "this boss" problem.

incandescentglow · 23/03/2022 18:53

thank you for all your rude and sarcastic responses, i'm afraid you won't see your comments in the daily mirror for I am merely a 23 year old barmaid on her day off, just looking for a bit of entertainment to pass the time, I saw this on reddit and just thought it would be fun to put on here too

do fucking excuse me

thank you to the people who actually went with it, nice to see not everyone on here are miserable arseholes

Clearly the hypocrisy is strong with this one!

montysma1 · 23/03/2022 18:56

Somebody keeps using my tea bags.

Sorry.

I forgive you. Grudgingly. It's the same sort of feeling as missing the last step coming down the stairs.
ASaucerfulOfSecrets · 23/03/2022 19:17

I built a miniature theatre diorama depicting hamlet.

Small scale work, drama.

LottyD32 · 23/03/2022 19:21

@MajesticElephant

Half our team got made redundant with 16 weeks notice which they have to work… the conflict between those who are staying and going is popcorn worthy.
@MajesticElephant You need to start a thread!
