I was 37. Go for it! Grin

TragicMuse · 14/03/2022 18:01

Not a bit of it! I finally learnt at 36-37, after 2 earlier false starts at aged 18 and 21.

I had a great teacher, passed, and haven't looked back.

Do it!

Teacupsandtoast · 14/03/2022 18:01

It will change your life - my friend recently passed and she is older than you. I didn't pass till I was 34 and regret waiting so long!

LaDoIceVita · 14/03/2022 18:02

I was 43. You'll be fine Grin

DetailMouse · 14/03/2022 18:02

My Grandma learned in her 50s and that was when 50 was old!

Prepaway · 14/03/2022 18:02

Go for it. A lot of my family all learnt to driver when they were older, I was young at 29. My cousin did it 2 years ago at 48.

TulipCat · 14/03/2022 18:03

Of course not, go for it! As a mature adult, you will probably learn faster, and have better judgement.

user1471464702 · 14/03/2022 18:04

Me to 35 👍

Georgeskitchen · 14/03/2022 18:04

Go for it !!! You won't regret it. I passed at 34 and my mum passed at 44!!

Saladd0dger · 14/03/2022 18:04

No. I’m also 39 and waiting to start mine. Money all saved ready.

Lolly34h · 14/03/2022 18:05

I've already been practising the theory test and I'm consistently passing it now on the dvla recommended app so that won't be hard I don't think to pass but the actual driving I'm so nervous about it!

Nope, my mum was in her 50's. She doesn't drive anymore and hasn't for a long time but it helped her deal with a significant bereavement and was really positive. She also passed her test first time, I was learning at the same time and failed mine 4 times!

HairyFeline · 14/03/2022 18:08

Reckon you’ll be fine. My mum was 65 when she started lessons, 67 when she passed her test. 20 years later she’s only just stopped driving in the past month.

ErinAoife · 14/03/2022 18:11

No you are not. My mom took driving lessons in her 60th when my dad passed away in order to have a bit of independence and not to have to rely on anyone else for lift.

Uafasach · 14/03/2022 18:16

Go for it! I know a woman who learned in her early 70's when her husband died.

Chely · 14/03/2022 18:18

Of course you're not too old

ShouldBeWorking23 · 14/03/2022 18:19

Go for it! My mother only learned in her 50s and it changed her life. She insisted I learn at 20 😁

Yukkatree12 · 14/03/2022 18:23

I started learning last month at the age of 36 and I have my theory test next week. I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. Goodluck!

AngeloMysterioso · 14/03/2022 18:24

I’ve just started learning aged 36. Never really needed to before now.

Lolly34h · 14/03/2022 18:32

@Yukkatree12 let me know how the theory is. The earliest I can book here is July!

Two of my friends learnt in their late thirties. Definitely do it

DramaAlpaca · 14/03/2022 18:37

My mother didn't learn until she was in her mid-60s. She passed her test first time, too.

Lurkerlot · 14/03/2022 18:41

After moving from London to the country I was 43 when I learned.

Mollyplop999 · 14/03/2022 18:44

My Mum passed her test when she was 68 after my Dad passed away. She then bought her first car. She's nearly 77 and still driving.

Longdistance · 14/03/2022 18:46

No, not too old.
My dm is 81, her biggest regret in life was not learning to drive.
Go for it and good luck 🍀
