Whenever I hear someone fairly hippy drippy talking about self love I do tend to internally snigger. I tend to use a teenage test on things. If my teenagers don't snigger it's probably not going to look like a euphemism.

Whichever way you've interpreted it (and "self love" has been a pretty well established euphemism for masturbation at least since I was a teenager) , what an utterly shit thing to have on a T-shirt. Who buys crap like this? At best, it's the sort of thing you get if you've gone away somewhere and forgotten pyjamas.

I work in a secondary school, so there’s no fucking way I could wear something like that!

Because self-love primarily means improving your self-esteem, well-being etc.

Even if you didn't know it's a popular euphemism for wanking, who wants a T-shirt with 'Self Love' written on it? It either reads as "I love me Smile" which, well, congrats on your self-esteem there, bud. Or it reads as "I am trying to love myself" in which case, good luck and I wish you well, but I'm not sure what I can do as a bystander. Or perhaps you're ordering me to love myself, which is not something anyone but me needs to get involved in, ta.

Oh God, there was a time when I thought Netflix and chill meant binge watching The Crown in my jammies with a bag of Doritoes and a bottle of wine, so when my boss asked me what my Friday evening plans were that's what I told her it was doing 🤦.

The worst thing is, that's not the most embarrassing thing I ever did / said there.

Self love means love yourself - if that means having a wank to you then crack on but many other people love themselves in other ways too.

Self care aka taking care of yourself sounds more wanky to me but I still wouldn’t associate if it was a on a t-shirt as most things have double meanings.
