WIbu to refuse to pick up my ‘friends’ dogs s**t!?

Just that really!! So, there are 2 main reasons I won’t get a dog..1 I am allergic to most and 2 I just hate the thought of picking up after them. Of course my supposed friend knows this, but as she had just had her nails done, she asked me to pick up after her dog! She got really pissed off with me when I said no and said if ruins her nails it’s my fault. She picked it up and went off in a huff. So wise mumsnetters, wibu??

I hate picking up poo but have a dog so I do it, nails or not.
I actually also picked up my friends dogs poo after it did a poo on our drive the other day and I had beautiful nails. I am fabulous.

I’d do it for someone.
If it was a good friend, your mate doesn’t sound like someone who fits that criteria though.

She sounds like someone I knew years ago, I asked her if she wanted to come blackberrying with me in another friend's field, millions of easily accessible berries. No, she didn't like getting her hands caught on the bush etc., within five monutes of my arriving home with two huge containers of fruit her son was round, Mum's sent me to get her blackberries!

You don’t ask a friend to pick up your dog’s shit. It’s disgusting, even though obviously you don’t touch it except through the bag. It’s one reason many of us don’t have dogs. She could have brought a poopascoop (or whatever it’s called) with her if she wanted to save her nails.

Not unreasonable at all and I am saying that as a dog lover.

If people have such long nails that they can’t do normal tasks then the nails are too long.

OP you definitely should have said “you don’t need to use your nails, you can pick it up with a bag” like a pp suggested!

The question is if it was shellac they would be dry so why would it have ruined her nails ? Also who messaged their friend saying you are selfish for not wanting to touch someone else's dog poo ??? I want a dog but it's the poo that stops me

If she was having an EMERGENCY it might be warranted; otherwise no. It's disgusting! She sounds a bit 'entitled'!
