A man's face is appearing on my Skype call

Hello everyone
I am posting here for traffic. I call my mum on Skype quite often. Occasionally when my mother hangs up, a man's face appears on her screen for a very brief moment. It is like she can see his profile picture. It is very creepy and I am wondering if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them or could provide an explanation for it.

Could you just switch to Zoom instead?

How would that help in working out what's happening?

On Skype you can share your screen, so if your mum shared her screen you could then do the screenshot.

Definitely download some free screen recorder software. Could you do a mock Skype call when you next see her face to face so you can see her device?

Are you sure it's not her/your profile picture? Sounds like a mistake. Very much doubt it's a hacker.

It's definitely not mine or my mother's profile photo.

I asked my mother to share the screen but she says her Ipad does not have a share screen button for Skype

My mother also mentioned that when she sees his picture, below his picture are the buttons to end the call, mute the microphone etc.

Does she have a smart phone? She could use that to take a photo of the iPad.

I just had a Skype call using my phone app and this appeared each time I ended the call.

Send your DM that photo OP and ask her whether that's it.

I hope it is case solved! I was pretty happy to see it and solve a Mumsnet mystery.

It's an advert (well, the screenshot shared by a PP) showing that you can have the Skype app in a smaller window while you use your device for other things like maps etc. The man is just representing the Skype call.

We had our family weekly Skype today and occasionally we had a similar picture flash for a second on the screen. Never happened before. It was creepy. Not this man though.
