To find Baby on board car signs pointless and rather irritating.

I just don't get it. What purpose do these signs serve? I totally understand why you might wear a baby on board badge on the tube, that has a purpose. But why a car sign? Are other drivers supposed to be behave differently around you "more safely" or perhaps just be forewarned that you may have poor driving or parking as you may be sleep deprived. Aibu to find this pointless signalling irritating? Maybe someone with one of these signs share why?

That said, I do work with a few people who openly say they only really concentrate on the road when they see someone with a BOB sticker or car seat because that could “live” with hurting an adult but never a child (and they expect everyone else to behave the same way). So they clearly work for some people…

They’re very 2003.

So many people speed I think it is just on the off-chance a sign might pull on the heart strings.

When dd2 was tiny she'd cry as soon as the car stopped, I used to wish there was a sign that would indicate to fellow drivers that although I had seen the red light- could they please let me just drive through it as this tiny bundle at the back was just distraught!😂

I think that sign does exist - it looks like a bicycle.
