To think pictures of your child with food smeared all over its face are gross??

OK, I admit I'm not the most maternal person, but I like kids in small doses. Heck I even like seeing the odd photo now and again. Oversharers can get a bit annoying but heck - I'll indulge it.

But what on earth makes you think I want to see pictures of your child with its face covered in food? Mouth agape with half chewed mush, a kaleidoscope of liquefied food and saliva dribbling down its chin. It's not cute. It's not endearing. It's about as appealing as sending me a picture of its unwiped behind.

Maybe I'm just a bit too OCD but I honestly I really don't get why this is 'a thing'.

ps. I also have no wish to know the blow-by-blow account of your child's potty training either. TMI.

I have lots of pictures of my children with food smeared on their faces but only when they first started eating solid food.. I have never posted pictures on social media, it's in the same bracket as posting what you've had for dinner. No one cares

@SweatyPie

Such strong reactions to a baby. It's food not feces, come on ladies.
It's a new take on the established "Thread About MN's fucked up relationship with food", I'll give it that Grin

While we do have photos of DD as a baby/young toddler covered in remains of a meal, they are for the grandparents who live too far away to experience it. And meal times can be hillarious when your child learns to eat.

They are also always after the meal, I would hate taking a photo while a person is chewing, that's gross.

But there is no need to share it on social media or send it around to everyone.

Didn’t have to suffer those images when my dc were small as there wasn’t social media.
I too agree that it’s not at all pleasant.
Only time I’m likely to see it now, is if the tv program “You’ve been framed” is airing.
The food smeared faces are bad enough when your eating your tea, but worse still is the “cute” snot smeared little darlings…..
