Dip with pizza

Light hearted but I am genuinely curious to how many of you use the dip that comes with Domino’s…

It’s so baffling to me why you would ever want to dip a slice of pizza into anything but I assume many do???

AIBU to think dip is odd
AINBU dip really doesn’t belong anywhere near pizza

@BreakingUpWithMyPhone

That's a good idea Hugasauras - do they have a Use by date on them?
Not sure actually, we eat them too fast GrinSad
WheelieBinPrincess · 20/02/2022 13:47

@Iamnotminterested

YABU to buy Domino's pizzas.
Why? Our local Dominos does excellent pizza.

Are Dominoes responsible for the rainforests burning or child trafficking or something?

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 20/02/2022 13:47

YABU.

Crusts dipped in sauce is the best.

Hollowtree3 · 20/02/2022 13:47

yep it is for the crust and it is the best bit.

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 20/02/2022 13:49

🤣 Hugasaurus

This thread has made me want Dominoes pizza - I haven't had it for years. I could drive ~15mins to collect a takeaway 🤔.

Hugasauras · 20/02/2022 13:50

Yes they don't deliver to us since we moved, so we don't get them as often now as the nearest one is 25 mins away Sad Contemplating doing it today thanks to this thread though!

supermum87 · 20/02/2022 13:51

The dip is the best bit!! I dip a little of the pizza but use it mostly for the crust. And I order extra dip Halo

spacehardware · 20/02/2022 13:52

I'm the only one who likes the dip, so on the rare occasion we have dominos I put everyone in the fridge for future supermarket pizza use. So good

DoctorManhattan · 20/02/2022 13:54

The garlic and herb dip is great. I sometimes have a bbq one also. My wife uses plain old mayo to dip the pizza crust, that one I can’t fathom.

Sainsburys have a buffalo sauce pizza dip also which is nice

zigzag56445 · 20/02/2022 13:55

I use the garlic mayo that comes with a domino's, but it wouldn't occur to me for pizza from anywhere else...

Odd now you mention it Hmm

Hankunamatata · 20/02/2022 13:55

Yes crusts need dip

lap90 · 20/02/2022 13:58

I love the Domino's dip. Wish it was sold in shops.

So, DP and I have always been a bit snobbish about take-away pizzas, preferring to home-make and bake ours. Then we saw a tv programme (forgot the name, but presented by Fred Sirieix), where basically two top chefs are challenged to reproduce a certain food product as identical as possible to the original (wheatabix, kitkat, etc.). One time it was a Domino's pizza. They were quite dismissive of it, how hard could it be, and surely the quality of Dominos products was not particularly high. While the cameras followed their competition to re-engineer it on the basis of taste and vision, the cameras also showed how the product is made in reality in Dominos itself. Seeing this show changed my perception of the company completely. I now happily have a cheeky Dominos once in a while. (And have recently tried the dip, which is delicious with the crusts.)

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 20/02/2022 14:00

Love it with the crust. Yum.

ByTheNine · 20/02/2022 14:01

Domino's dip is great but don't be fooled into thinking that the garlic dip that comes with Papa John's pizzas is anything similar. It is the most revolting substance on Earth and I have never met anyone who likes it. I reckon even seagulls would turn it down

FirewomanSam · 20/02/2022 14:04

PSA: Tesco sell a Garlic and Herb dip in the fridge section with their pizzas which is a copycat of the Dominos one (it’s even in blue and red packaging that looks like Dominos branding).

@ByTheNine yes WTF is that Papa Johns stuff? Tastes like melted margarine!

Hugasauras · 20/02/2022 14:04

The Papa John's stuff is an abomination.

spacehardware · 20/02/2022 14:04

The only papa John pizza I've ever had was such a disappointment I've never tried another. Aldi 75p frozen ones are nicer

Notanotherwindow · 20/02/2022 14:05

Stuffed crust with garlic and herb dip is the best.

nicegirl73 · 20/02/2022 14:06

@Hugasauras “ The Papa John's stuff is an abomination”

Absolutely!!!

You can’t beat the Pizza Express garlic butter (the stuff that comes with the dough balls) for dipping your crusts in though. I always ask for a pot of that on the side when I get pizza there!

callmebymyname1 · 20/02/2022 14:11

I did get a large garlic one until I realised it’s 700 calories 🥴🥴🥴

Wannakisstheteacher · 20/02/2022 14:13

Oh my God, the dip is the best bit! Stuffed crust with the garlic and herb is pure Heaven.
