That it wasn't funny 20 yrs ago and it still isn't funny now?

We play pool. Dh thinks it hilarious to make a stupid fart sound when I bend over and it winds me up no end. It wasn't funny in the pub 20 years ago, juvenile in the extreme, and it isn't funny 20 years layer at home. Like who is he trying to impress and get a laugh from? He knows it pisses me off then sulks when I pull him up on it, saying I have hated that joke since we met, knock it off? Just crass.

Juvenile and boring bloke

AcrossthePond55 · 19/02/2022 22:36

DH used to do shit like that when we were first married, mostly stupid things but if someone's doing something you don't like it doesn't matter if it fart sounds or taking a chip from your plate. I told him more than once "Keep that up and you'll be sorry". When I reached my limit we were at a party. I looked at him and said "I've TOLD you about doing that" loud enough for others to hear, went and got my purse and drove home. Refused to answer the phone so he had to beg a ride from someone. He stopped his 'antics' once he realized I meant what I said.

Wife2b · 19/02/2022 22:37

Is it every time? Maybe once on a rare occasion is funny not every time. That would grow old quickly.

WonderfulYou · 19/02/2022 22:40

Everytime he does it, actually fart at him, see how he likes that.

😂😂

FantasticFebruary · 19/02/2022 22:41

Crack him across the knee cap with the cue. NOT the pointy end!

Subbaxeo · 19/02/2022 22:43

Tell him it gives you the ick. That might make him stop.

Phobiaphobic · 19/02/2022 22:44

@CrypticCode

Glad I am not the only one who would find it annoying. I think it's worse as I have said SO many times that it isn't funny. And yes, it's that he just isn't listening.

I get it if you and your partner are into those sorts of jokes, but I have never found toilet humour funny and he knows that.

He finds it funny and doesn't care that you don't.
MillieMoonbeam · 19/02/2022 22:46

YANBU 8 year olds find farts funny. And then they grow up…

CrypticCode · 19/02/2022 22:47

Well, we have now established that apparently he didn't know it annoyed me and has said he won't do it anymore Hmm I've only told him literally every time we play. We'll see.

@eldora

Get a fart app and do it to him. I BET he won’t like it.
A fart app, LOL, is there such a thing? I’m really behind the times.
CrypticCode · 19/02/2022 22:48

@FantasticFebruary

Crack him across the knee cap with the cue. NOT the pointy end!
This may be my next solution! Angry

YANBU. How pathetic. And disrespectful towards you. He knows you hate it and he still does it. What a cunt.

Sorry @CrypticCode but I would not be going with him anymore. Find a new pool team somewhere.

lottiegarbanzo · 19/02/2022 22:51

He doesn't think it's endearing, he knows it isn't. He enjoys winding you up, because on some level he finds you absurd.

You could retaliate; actually fart, nudge him up the bum with your pool cue cooing 'ooh pert buns!' every time he bends over etc. Or you could walk out. Up to you.

oldestmumaintheworld · 19/02/2022 22:52

I'd have punched him the second time he did it.

lottiegarbanzo · 19/02/2022 22:53

So he doesn't listen to anything you say to him? Useful information.

iheartmybeachhut · 19/02/2022 22:55

I'm broadminded but god I hate such pathetic twatish behaviour, not funny by any stretch of the imagination. Totally pathetic.

OwlNoises101 · 19/02/2022 22:56

I would go with pp's suggestion upthread and pit the cue down and stop the game as soon as the does it. Game over.

UniversalAunt · 19/02/2022 22:56

Smile @AcrossthePond55

Now that is what I call leaving the room…

poTAYtoes · 19/02/2022 22:57

I think I'd do as pp said and just stop playing every time he does it. Or if you know of something he hates, do that every single time he makes his pathetic 'joke'. I can't stand people who make stupid jokes when you've told them over and over again (for 20 years?!) how much you hate it. It's not just a joke, any more. If they know you hate it, I'd take it as a sign of disrespect and malice.

MRS54321 · 19/02/2022 22:59

DH still feels the need to whistle loudly any time I’m getting changed.
Some may find this endearing. I just find it fucking annoying - just let me get into my pjs without a comment ! Am I supposed to act coquettishly and bat my lashes gratefully?
He also knows it does my head in.
Just walk away when and stop playing when he does it. I can’t stand that sort of humour either, and even if you didn’t mind it at first - you Wallis after 20 bloody years of the same thing

They play together at home.
Cherryblossoms85 · 19/02/2022 23:01

Eat half a fruit cake, then play pool. Grin

BearOfEasttown · 19/02/2022 23:16

@newbiename

Op can still find someone else to play with.

ShittyFingers · 19/02/2022 23:18

I think it’s funny 😂 so does DH (I’ve just read your post to him, gave us both a good laugh)

Ah of course if your DH finds it funny then we women must be wrong.

Why do you think anyone gives a shiny shit what your DH thinks?
