I've literally rejoined mumsnet to post this. In AIBU. Without an AIBU. Shameless I know but I've gone Google blind trying to solve this myself so I need the wise owls of mumsnet to help me.

In May we plan to go away for our significant wedding anniversary. We need to bring the kids (definitely can't leave them with anyone unfortunately and think it'll be nice to have them there anyway!) Age 6 months (at that time) and 5 years. Both easy going well behaved children (assuming the baby stays as he is!)

We want to go for a long weekend somewhere where there is lots to do and need recommendations of somewhere to stay - we want somewhere nice and different rather than just a travelodge etc as its a special treat. We were thinking a farm or zoo etc with lodges but we won't do camping or yurts etc.

Give me some ideas please!! Thank you

Centre parcs near longleat?

Snaketime · 15/02/2022 14:02

Center Parcs is really good and if it is special you could put the kids in the creche for 3 hours and go to the spa. Plus there are lots of activities to do and animals to see. My kids absolutely love it there.

PartyPlan · 15/02/2022 14:07

Center Parcs is a nice easy option. I’ve heard good things about Bosinver too. bosinver.co.uk/

Forest Holidays. Depending on which location there are things to do on site and in the surrounding areas

Bywayofanupdate · 15/02/2022 15:25

Another place 😍

Twizbe · 15/02/2022 15:29

Depending on where you are based, Isle of Wight?

Bakewelltart987 · 15/02/2022 16:02

Flamingoland has everything swimming, zoo, fair, great play area and a peter rabbit play area, so much todo their.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 15/02/2022 16:10

We've never been (because it's so local to us it would seem a bit pointless!), but I always thought this place sounded lovely for a family UK break.

We're on the south coast, Happy to travel but longleat is a great idea. I've never heard of some of the other suggestions so off to Google now.

Bluestone in West Wales. It has plenty of kids activities including a big pool and activity centre. It’s 20 Minutes from Folly Farm, that is fantastic for kids, or Manor House, which has Wallabies and other animals. It’s 20 mins from both Tenby and Haverfordwest, plenty of beaches etc.

Hockeyboysmum · 15/02/2022 16:27

Plassey in wrexham

ShamelessPoster · 15/02/2022 16:35

@Bywayofanupdate

Another place 😍
What's this? Maybe my Google skills are lacking.

We haven't really ever spent much time in Wales so this sounds lovely

I love crieff hydro for family friendly weekend. They have free childcare for over 2's and a paid for creche for 6mo. Lots to do, it's local to me and we stay a couple of times a year. There's a lovely feel about the place I always come home feeling really relaxed!

Pyri · 15/02/2022 16:54

Another place in ullswater is excellent, as is the family friendly hotel chain

Sosocold · 15/02/2022 17:30

Sands Hotel Cornwall. Very child friendly, great facilities, near a beach, and they have baby/child listening in the rooms so you can go for a later adults only dinner and drinks!

Sosocold · 15/02/2022 17:30

Also just been to foxhills, Chertsey.

Bywayofanupdate · 15/02/2022 17:56

Sorry came up top for me! another.place/

Meatshake · 15/02/2022 17:58

Try Bosinver Farm in Cornwall, the most beautiful 10 cottages on a farm, with a small soft play and a swimming pool. Kids can be feral as they like. Close enough to things like the Eden project, nice beaches etc.

Downside: Like all nice things, it costs a fucking fortune. Might suit a "special" holiday though?

ChocolateMassacre · 15/02/2022 18:18

Check out the Luxury Family Hotels group. They have a few hotels in different locations.

Isle of Wight? Loads of kids stuff like Tapnell Farm (which has accommodation) and not too far to travel.

ShinyHappyPeephole · 19/02/2022 21:34

We've decided on Isle of Wight. Any airbnb or places to stay recommendations? Thanks

Hesma · 20/02/2022 06:04

Sandy balls in the new forest is great! Took DDs last summer and we’re going again this year! Look at away resorts as I’ve always found them good
