DP can’t keep a secret

DP and I are expecting our first baby together (previously had a MMC) it has been challenging needed days off work for sickness etc.
We are talking about finding out baby’s gender at 20 week scan but I would like to find out and keep it a secret until baby is born. DP agrees to this but last time we choose to keep our puppy’s name a secret until we picking him up he blabbed to his parents.

Now I don’t feel like I can trust DP with baby’s gender - AIBU if I want to find out gender of baby and keep it a secret from DP?

AIBU to be hurt that my DW lied to me for 6 months about not knowing the gender and yet knew all along because she didn’t trust me because I told my parents our puppy’s name?

You're borrowing trouble and yes it would be silly when you know he can't do this.

It sounds like having a secret for the sake of having a secret and rather petty.

Why would you keep a puppy's name a secret?

Sounds a bit daft to me, you either find out and let everyone know or you don't find out and keep it a suprise for yourselves. It's hard not to refer to baby as he or she once you know and I guarantee there'll be a slip up! Keeping a puppy's name secret is ridiculous, unless you are some high profile celeb who's name is in the paper after having a shit, you don't need to keep such silly little secrets

He's allowed to be excited and tell people whether he's having a boy or a girl, like he was excited when you got a puppy.

If he was completely uninterested you'd have an issue with that too.
