A footballer Kurt Zouma (apologies if already been mentioned here) has been videoed kicking his cat and chasing it yet West Ham says they've condemned his actions and he's apologised.

AIBU to be disgusted with him?

foul foul man

@VladmirsPoutine no fucking chance! What has skin colour got to do with animal cruelty? Seriously! Ffs!

It has NOTHING AT ALL to do with skin colour! Let’s not deflect on what this person did! I would feel EXACTLY the same regardless!

MissPeregrine · 11/02/2022 18:30

And just to add, I didn’t even know the skin colour of the player when I first heard of this animal cruelty!

So just stop with your silly post!

TheOnlyMrsMac · 11/02/2022 18:34

@VladmirsPoutine

If he were white this would have not only blown over by now but the sponsorships would still be in place and this thread wouldn't be full of people calling for him to lose everything and hopefully get deported.
I can't begin to tell you how offensive this post is to me and why.

All I will say is, that while I am certain some any-excuse-racists will have jumped on the bandwagon, this poster is wrong. It is entirely possible to care passionately about both racism and animal cruelty. Whataboutery like this divisive post helps neither cause.

I wonder if this poster has even considered that many black people are equally disgusted by the behaviour of the Zouda brothers?

This is not about race, religion or culture. This is about animal cruelty. Pet abuse is a form of Domestic Violence.

Couldn't agree less, if anything I think he'd have got a harder time because I have heard people arguing that Britain is a nation of animal lovers and because of this guys cultural heritage that's why he doesn't have the same attitude to animals.
CrinklyCraggy · 11/02/2022 18:47

The horse woman was white

MissPeregrine · 11/02/2022 18:48

@CrinklyCraggy exactly!!

MissPeregrine · 11/02/2022 18:52

Skin colour has no bearing on cruelty to animals! The colour of the skin does not and will never have any bearing on the way I feel about a human being cruel to a defenceless creature!

Your post makes me wonder if you would ever really feel the same. You’re making this out to be a race issue, you really have no idea, it also makes me think that you don’t give a shit about what this cat suffered!

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 11/02/2022 18:54

His scuzzy brother has been suspended for filming and laughing but this scumbag has only had a fine and is allowed to carry on as if nothing has happened. Its a joke and a disgrace.

What rubbish. This has fuck all to do with skin colour. He’s despicable. Would think the same of anyone, regardless.
Nasty bastard is the only category I put him in.

BlankTimes · 11/02/2022 20:18

Apparrently his actions are being condemned in France too.

Brigitte Bardot has called him an imbecile and her Foundation are filing a legal action against him.

I guess you've never heard of unconscious bias then
saraclara · 11/02/2022 20:36

@GreenLunchBox and @VladmirsPoutine The white middle class woman who kicked her horse lost her job.

It's ridiculous to say that this man's colour had affected how people feel about what he did. And he still had his job.

Watch both videos and decide for yourself which offence was most cruel and which animal would have received the worst injuries.

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/02/2022 20:37

What?

With three cats, I hate anyone who would harm them. Tall, short, fat, thin, rich, poor, black, white, religious, atheist, left wing, right wing.
Wtf has that to do with unconscious bias?
My bias is in favour of cats. Don’t be obtuse.

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/02/2022 21:00

(Four, in fact, typo 🥴. Didn’t mean to leave you out, Menace, honest 🤣)

Gonnagetgoing · 11/02/2022 21:06

@TheOnlyMrsMac, I mentioned it to my manicurist the other day who happens to be black. She was disgusted with it and didn’t bring colour into it all. She thought he was vile and to do it in front of his child.

I think what he did was vile whether he’s black, white, brown etc - colour doesn’t come into it and the people saying it does are deflecting from the animal cruelty issue,

What a load of bollocks.

His race has nothing to do with his animal cruelty. His brother has been suspended. He has not. The white horse woman lost her job.

MissPeregrine · 11/02/2022 21:39

He’s a human who was cruel to an animal, the colour of his skin matters not, the kick of his boot matters a lot!

ClareBlue · 11/02/2022 21:58

Don't bexpect his manager to give any lead on this. He has had his own issues including saying off air but mike still on that a women reporter needed a 'good slapping,' he just about managed to close that one down. His reaction is completely in character to something like this.

www.whufc.com/news/articles/2022/february/11-february/update-west-ham-united

West Ham United Vice-Chairman Karren Brady
Last paragraph.....

“I can assure all of our supporters and everyone associated with West Ham United that Kurt Zouma is absolutely willing to go on that journey. He has taken full responsibility for his actions, accepted punishment without reservation, and is eager for the chance to prove that he can learn from his mistake. I hope everyone in the West Ham family understands our decision to give him that chance.”
What punishment? The two week 'maximum' fine is a drop in the ocean to a multi millionaire

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/02/2022 23:05

Going on a “journey”?
Learn from his “mistake”?

What a load of trite bollocks. Hang your head in shame, Karren Brady.

He is a despicable piece of shit and if you had the balls that you frequently suggest you have you would fire him, immediately.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 11/02/2022 23:19

Agreed. She talks like he's been caught getting drunk falling out of a club, using recreational drugs, getting into a scuffle, saying the wrong thing, speeding or with his trousers down. He hasn't. He's been caught violently abusing a vulnerable animal in the home and in front of a young child. The fine is a slap on the wrist, that is all. I have no respect for Brady, Moyes and West Ham - and for the sponsors sticking with them.

ilovesooty · 11/02/2022 23:24

Agree absolutely with the last two posts.
