I think my favourite story on here has to be the one last year or the year before about the woman who, as a child, was sat on the stairs home alone petting her cat and a man walked up the stairs right past her and she knew he was a ghost. That would shit me up so much
I used to live in a hostel house share and woke up often times around 6amish to light knocking on my door. It sounded like a child. I would go to the spyhole - no one there. I'd open the door - also nobody there. I'd ask the house if anyone was up and tried knocking and nope, everyone was either fast asleep or away. The night staff that manned the hostel left before the knocking happened and there was a gap before the day staff came where no staff were at the house. I even asked staff to check CCTV as someone was knocking and waking me up and there was nobody there. On a couple of occasions I'd be chatting to someone in the hallway and they'd hear running/walking up the stairs next to us speaking.
When I was at my exes house I woke up to a man stood at the end of the bed with long hair and a check shirt watching me. I definitely wasn't half asleep as I've never experienced it before or since and the feeling seemed to wake me up from my sleep.
When I was at my nan's grave and my mum was tidying it up, I heard her call my name. I asked my mum if it was her calling me. She said no. The voice was loud and clear as day. The only other people around were two women and they were far away walking mumbling to each other in a low tone as they were that far away if that makes sense.
I went to a pub lunch and was 16 at the time (so no alcohol!) And as we were stood waiting to be seated infront of lots of my brother and SIL's family there was a set of benches. On one of the benches was a man and his dog, he had a newspaper and a pint on the bench and I swear to god he and the dog suddenly disappeared in a second and these two Edwardian women appeared in his place in those big round dresses with hats on and a cup and saucer with old fashioned newspapers and a cake stand on the table instead. They didn't acknowledge me or the 10+ other people I was with and were smiling and chatting and as soon as they appeared they went and the man was back with his dog. Shortly after we got allocated seats in another part of the pub for sitting to eat and the placemats were pictures of the outside of the pub in the early 1900's with women with the same types of dress that the two women I saw were wearing. I honestly saw this happen and rarely mention it as, frankly, I wouldn't believe it either if it were me reading someone else's experience of this. But it happened, and I've never hallucinated before or since. No lack of sleep or drug taking, it was a family meal.
When I lived with my dad as a child a lot happened in that house such as everyone being in bed and downstairs you'd hear cupboard doors opening and closing, creaking, foorsteps, just general noise like you'd hear during the day but at night when everyone is accounted for upstairs. I also saw two ghosts there and could go on about many other experiences but would be here all day.
