Does he punch walls or is there another explanation?

I met a guy in a pub the other night. He was a friend of a friend. He seemed very sweet and shy, a really nice person.

However, as I talked to him I saw out of the corner of my eye that his knuckles were really red and sore. I thought perhaps eczema. Then I noticed they were actually scraped with fresh cuts.

To me there is only one explanation for that - he has hit a wall or door with some force. Or a person, but I don't know what that would look like. My ex used to punch holes in walls. But is there another explanation? A sport? I know he works in an office so he's not been tree felling or something. Or maybe he has. But there were no other bruises or scratches on him.

I don't want to judge him but I would absolutely avoid someone who had that kind of violent outburst for whatever reason. It scares me. I'm likely to run into him again, so I'm wondering if I should politely avoid or give him the benefit of the doubt?

Same as you I’d absolutely avoid a wall puncher. I don’t think it’s ott to be looking out for these things, they’re just details.

Having said that…! my knuckles bleed because of eczema and the cold weather, hand gel and hand washing etc. to me it’s obvious that it’s cracked skin not the kind of marks you’d get with an impact but a glance from a distance might not tell you as much.

Working the bag will do this, as will knuckle push-ups.

@De88

My knuckles always look like that at the moment red scraped and skin splits... its the constant handwashing and hand gel for me
Mine too, even with using E45 cream.

You’ve got a intuition about this guy and his hands and are hoping he’s not ‘bad’ but your intuition is making you question what is wrong.

I’d move on.

As an aside to all the people saying they have dry, cracked hands from washing, cold weather etc can I recommend the Nursem range? It’s designed for nurses and midwives and they give some to the industry free for every purchase. Totally transformed my hands! (I have no connection with the company other than as a very satisfied customer). It is not that widely available in the shops but I buy online direct from the
manufacturers and have always had good service.

The lad's got skinned knuckles same reason I have.

I reckon the World's a jungle and the people are animals in the jungle. Someone gets in my way, I punch 'em out.

And that's why you should vote for me, your Conservative candidate, this Thursday.

Ask him.

FunkyPhantom · 29/01/2022 17:28

If you do bump into him again, why not find out what he does for a living or what his hobbies/interests are.......might explain his hand ??

Or, just be blunt and ask 👍
