To be annoyed they've blocked me in?

Next door has a visitor. Instead of parking in the empty car park next to my house they have parked directly in front of my house. I was going to pop to Tesco for some packed lunch stuff. Now I can't. They've been over 2 hrs. I don't fancy going out in the dark and knocking on next door and asking them to move. I just want to be able to drive out my own freaking house. AIBU to be annoyed?

Well from the diagram, if the road is too narrow for two cars side by side, OP can't get her car past the visitors. So visitor has blocked the road itself so to speak.

Is it that narrow that two cars going in opposite directions can’t pass each other? Does one have to reverse out of the road if this happens?

YABU to not go and ask them to move. They’re knobs to park there but you’re doing nothing to sort out the situation so only have yourself to blame for that.

Yes indeed but it's only a very short piece of road the length of our 2 houses. It's essentially a shared drive and road to the car park

Tesco extra is.... The small ones. Open until 11pm here.

Bullshit - there’s a Tesco 5 mins from me and it is open right now. It’s open 24 hours 7 days a week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our Tesco is 24 hours - even on Sundays.

Op my old neighbour used to have friends come all the time who did this to me. I could of knocked and they would of moved with no problem. But it wound me up every time. You shouldnt have to go and ask, they should not block you in in the first place.I am with you completely.

Yes I get it now. As I said, no Tesco in my town is open at 7.30pm on Sundays. I get that some others are. I stand corrected. I wasn't being horrible, hence the 'misses point of thread' line. It was lighthearted.

A few people didn't think so though, judging by the arsey and snarky comments.
