To have laughed at her Slimming World advice?

Pikaso · 18/01/2022 13:04

Woman at work has been doing Slimming World. She’s obsessed with it and goes on about it constantly armed with her books and Muller Lights at every meal.
I told her last week I was going to give it a go. I didn’t buy Muller Lights but instead bought some asda own yogurts which had almost identical calorie, fat and sugar content. Sat down to eat lunch yesterday and she came in and said “I thought you were doing slimming world?”. I said “I am” so she said “how many syns in those yogurts?” So I said “none, they’re the same as muller lights”. She replied “no, you’re meant to eat Muller lights!” And looked really concerned and worried!! I did owl noises in her face and told her the calories, sugar and fat etc were exactly the same so why would it matter??! She actually left the room muttering about how it won’t work if you don’t do it properly.

I did slimming world a few years back and stopped because of the cult like behaviour of the members and leaders. I thought I’d give it another go but she has totally put me off again! Nothing has changed!!
She’s been off with me ever since. WIBU to have laughed at her muller light concerns?? Common sense tells you it’s the calories etc that matter, not the bloody name on the pot!!

I’ve just tried it on my mam.

It didn’t work.

Bluebluemoon39 · 18/01/2022 13:43

Who the fuck makes coo-ing noises at someone when they are trying to talk, you may not think it's rude but it's fucking bizarre!

Maybe, but asking someone the fat and calorie content of their "inferior" Asda bought yoghurt and telling them " you're only meant to have muller lights" is pretty bizarre behaviour too!

It's not like the Op shouted "SHUT THE FUCK UP BARBARA!!" and chucked the yoghurt at her...

Veeveeoxox · 18/01/2022 13:43

I don't get how kvarg yoghurt is the same syns as Muller light , kvarg has 15 grams of protein so more satisfying and fills you up?

HCHQ · 18/01/2022 13:43

This has cheered me up no end ... bloody owl noises ...

@Pikaso can you see your arse too (full head swivel)?!

PosyBoo · 18/01/2022 13:44

I really need to get back to work but this thread is too good to miss! 😂 😂 😂

BrinksmansEntry · 18/01/2022 13:45

COOO FUCKING COOOO

now it's MY turn to speak.

Stop making bird noises at people.

HelloFrostyMorning · 18/01/2022 13:45

She was banging on and on about how it had to be muller lights and I couldn’t get a word in edgeways so I did owl noises to get her to take a breath so I could speak.

What makes all this so funny is that you're actually being serious.

Stellar thread. Made my afternoon. Thanks @Pikaso Grin

Velvian · 18/01/2022 13:45

Are owls relevant to Slimming World or yoghurt? I don't understand why owl noises.

Butchyrestingface · 18/01/2022 13:45

She’s an intelligent person, I couldn’t believe she was so brainwashed to think that the brand mattered!

SHE might be an intelligent person, but you're obviously not, to:

  1. make "owl" noises and
  2. post something so outing.

Might want to change your username.

Shiningpath · 18/01/2022 13:45

What a rude response on your part! This is not the way to deal with people.

Fat free yogurt is bollocks. Full of sugar and artificial stuff. Better off eating full fat greek yogurt with some fruit.

OMG STOP!!!!!!!! 😂
Butchyrestingface · 18/01/2022 13:46

Since when was COO FUCKING COO an owl noise anyway?

Isn't that like a sweary cuckoo noise?

Wendyer · 18/01/2022 13:47

Which branch do you work on? Um, I mean in

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/01/2022 13:47

It’s difficult to vote on this one!

Yanbu on the actual point - the the yoghurts are the same, they’re the same!

All apart from this I did owl noises in her face - this isn’t a reasonable way to express disagreement, and neither is laughing at someone.

As an aside, I thought full fat yoghurt was now considered better as it keeps you full longer - not by SW specifically but in general.

It generally goes off the calories - about 20 cals is one "syn" (I really hate that term!)
You're right - the kvarg is probably a better option.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 18/01/2022 13:47

It's not like the Op shouted "SHUT THE FUCK UP BARBARA!!"

We don’t know what OP hooted at ‘Barbara’ - she hasn’t said.

Showmethefood · 18/01/2022 13:47

Is making animal noises in peoples faces when you want them to be quiet a thing now? Maybe I should make a barking sound when I feel it’s my turn to speak when conversing with a chatty person 😂😂

MrsEricBana · 18/01/2022 13:47

What the owl? 🦉

VanGoghsDog · 18/01/2022 13:48

@Pikaso

I wasn’t saying cuckoo. It was literally a gentle “coooo coooo … “ just to break her train of thought
Break her train of thought? Well, you've broken me!
Chrissyo · 18/01/2022 13:48

@Pikaso

“ But you brought in the Asda pot to show her up for being an idiot, therefore making her the joke” ———- No I didn’t, I took it in for my lunch 🙄
😂😂😂
worriedatthemoment · 18/01/2022 13:48

Who makes an owl noise and some brands will be free some not you have to work it out according to sw so they may be free or they may not despite being almost identical on some parts

@Dsisproblem - agreed with you there.

Skyr Icelandic yoghurt then - is that fat free or good for you?

I have so many questions. But laughing too much to formulate anything sensible
