AIBU to think a guy I am dating who is an artist wants to paint me?

Is it weird or some sort of paint fetish

I don't think it's weird. I've done several portraits of my now DH over the years. But only do it if you feel comfortable with the idea.

I'm old - so I got the image of Bob Hoskins painting Cher in Mermaids! Hope he's not that bad.

i wouldnt find this odd in the slightest , but then when i was in my twenties i was the nude model at the art and crafts college that was at the other end of the village where i then lived , quite easy work for 20 quid a session it was too , being as all i had to do was sit about in various different poses and stay still . and its only a portrait he wants to do

I guess it's similar that for me it would be having a partner if they choose to, be a fashion model for me, wearing different outfits and I note the designs , styles ect.

If you have red hair , do it , if not don't.

If I was dating an artist and he didn’t want to paint me like one of his French girls, I’d be bloody offended.

I mean there you are, lying naked in his bed, and instead of him smoothing your hair back and looking at you with wonder in his dark eyes, and saying he’d like to capture your ucipital mapillary in oils, he rolls over, switches on the television and says “hey, fartface fetch me a cup of tea” ???

I paint. I've probably painted most of my friends and family over the years. Portraits but a fair few of my friends nude too, from photos. It would be weird if he DIDN'T want to.
Plus, finding a model to sit live for a portrait is difficult and/or expensive, so it's no doubt a helpful thing for him.
