Bubble bath doesn't bubble anymore

Is it just me? bubble bath just doesn't seem to bubble anymore? I remember when I used to make a 'beard' on the kids and it was huge. I have tried all different types, resorted back to Matey which used to be good, but nothing like it used to be. Disappointing to be honest. What's going on?

Have you moved to a hard water area?

DillonPanthersTexas · 13/01/2022 20:04

Fart more?

Sunshineandrainbow · 13/01/2022 20:05

We like waitrose own bubble bath and happy with the bubbles. Unfragranced or grapefruit. I do slosh it about as I pour to create more.

Cuwins · 13/01/2022 20:06

My radox and Tesco own version of the same thing definitely does- often I have too many bubbles.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/01/2022 20:07

If you have an over bath shower, use that instead of the taps.

RB68 · 13/01/2022 20:08

I suspect its the water type add some salt to your bath and see if that helps (Not masses but its used to soften water so might help)

Ck2992 · 13/01/2022 20:08

I have had the exact same thought just this week. It's never bubbly. We live in a soft water area as a pp had posted about hard water, so it's not that here!

Wrenna · 13/01/2022 20:09

Use cheap shampoo!

RB68 · 13/01/2022 20:09

oh and the other tip - do wind the bobbin up under water - used to amuse my DD with that one when she was little

ParkheadParadise · 13/01/2022 20:09

Another vote for the essential Waitrose range. I like Chamomile bubble bath.
A bargain at £1.20 for 750ml.

Imperial Leather still does, I get loads and live in a hard water area.

OldEvilOwl · 13/01/2022 20:10

Maybe I need to give my bath a good scrub. We have had bath bombs in there so maybe its the oils

Was going to say exactly this.

I've noticed this. I use a whisk as the water is running in 😄

OldEvilOwl · 13/01/2022 20:12

Thanks for suggestions, am making notes

You have to swish as Micky Flanagan says.

Too posh to use your fingers?

No another house but just down the road

Radox bubbles like mad.

Greydogs123 · 13/01/2022 20:23

Agree with pp, we also use radox or Tesco own brand and get loads of bubbles and we’re in a hardish water area.

SapphireEyes88 · 13/01/2022 21:49

It could be reduced SLS or SLS free? This is a foaming agent in many bath products.
I can't use products with SLS due to psoriasis and add cocamidopropyl betaine to SLS-free shampoo to get a lather.

catelina · 13/01/2022 21:56

It'll be the bath - it needs a clean! Especially if you've been using oils or salts because they kill off foam

100daysandBeyond · 13/01/2022 22:06

Ours is because of our pathetic quiet and gentle tap.

Fuck that, give me a thunder roar tap and I want BUBBLES.

Can't believe I have to do the Flanagan swish.
