When people abuse/kill their children/stepkids as we have heard alot recently why aren't they scared of being hated and having to go to prison. They know they are going to be hated and run the risk of getting attacked.

I'd be terrified, why aren't they?
Before anyone says they don't think they will be caught I don't believe it.

They know eventually it will come to light what's been happening. Also why do they want to split up their relationship. Once tough to prison your separated and you don't even see each other again.

If anyone really does know please enlighten me.

You loose your freedom
You lose your relationship and other kids.
Everyone hates you and wants to beat you up.

Think I'd rather be dead than live like that.

Just awful there's been another one today on the news. A woman and her partner have Been charged with murdering her 9 year old son.

A lot of these people would have Cluster B personality traits or have one of the most dangerous personality disorders, so their arrogance and low levels of anxiety may have something to do with their apparent lack of fear of being imprisoned. Many of them do go on to have "top dog2 status in prison as others are afraid of them, e.g. Rose West. Basically, they are just very evil people! Evil people do evil things and often enjoy the sense of power doing evil gives them!

In their heads they are in the right and there’s nothing wrong with their actions - if they thought there was something wrong with it then they wouldn’t do it.

They might hide it as they think society wouldn’t agree but they still think they’re right.
They also think they’re above everyone else so they would never think they would get caught or get in trouble for it.

Because people who commit crimes don’t expect to be caught and don’t expect to go prison. I don’t know why you’re under the impression that they do.

My work brings me into regular contact with you those who commit offences and end up in prison. Many have told me they never thought they would get caught (despite being warned numerous times they would) some have issues with consequential thinking due to trauma or issues which impact upon their intelligence, while others are narcissistic /psychopaths.
For many prison is the one place they feel at home sadly. It will never be a deterrent in my eyes.

I don't buy this. Today you have to expect you will be caught what with cameras everywhere and DNA etc.

The police have loads of resources nowadays to help them.i actually would expect to be caught if I did a crime.

I have wondered similar.

Like salt poisoning for example. Why? Why would you feed a child salt? It’s a bloody weird thing to do. Is it a punishment? Surely they know it’s toxic? Are they trying to poison them? Why on earth do it that way?

I think a lot of child abusers must be mentally ill and not thinking rationally.

I'm sorry OP but this makes you sound incredibly naive.

People get away with thousands of crimes every year. Police may theoretically have lots of resources but in real terms they're massively underfunded and over staffed. Even if you do get arrested and charged the chances of being convicted are incredibly low due to the idea of 'beyond reasonable doubt'.

Ontop of that there's the people who have trouble with processing consequential action. Some people are just stupid. People with psychopathic tendencies are known to have an excessive feeling of grandeur and unwarranted assumption that everything will work out in there favour.

You can't just 'not buy' things that have stacks of evidence behind them.
