@Cyw2018 yes that's my thought on it as well

canyoutoleratethis · 12/01/2022 15:48

@Tempusfudgeit

I had my babies at 39, 40, 43 and now pregnant again at 45. Older Mums rock!
Yes we do!! Grin
sleepismyhobby · 12/01/2022 15:48

I hope not seeing I was 42 when I had ds he's now a very healthy 4 year old

Rewis · 12/01/2022 15:49

It has to get out somehow. So I'd assume that if 41yo is pregnant, they can also give birth.

Lovinglife45 · 12/01/2022 15:49

It is entirely down to the individual and their circumstances.

I would not want to be pregnant in my forties.

Shinyandnew2022 · 12/01/2022 15:50

@Cyw2018

I think if you can conceive naturally and carry to term then no age is too old.
Also agree with this ! Obviously it can vary a lot how fit and healthy you are at any age so to me that's just as important. I had my DC at 39 and 41 both births were pretty straightforward ( once DC1 got started !) my second was an unplanned homebirth as he came fast but that was a wonderful experience really !
thisonebreath · 12/01/2022 15:52

No, I had my third at 41.

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 12/01/2022 15:55

no 41 is good or it was for me!!

Thevoiceofreason2021 · 12/01/2022 15:57

No. Its quite common in India and the east for women to have kids in their 40s, but it’s not normal their first. Also , although it is more difficult to fall pregnant-naturally in 40s, it is not impossible. I conceived naturally at 44 and had a healthy baby. I had a C section due to a high risk pregnancy

DarkCorner · 12/01/2022 15:57

No, I had my second at 41 and she's now 1. She actually sleeps so I feel much better than with my first who I had when I was 32!

Noodles4Me · 12/01/2022 15:59

What are we voting for?

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 12/01/2022 16:02

I had my first at 18 and my last at 38, I found pregnancy and birth much harder at 38 tbh, but 41 definitely isn't too old at all.

TheKeatingFive · 12/01/2022 16:04

Obviously not, no.

nitsandwormsdodger · 12/01/2022 16:05

All went well for me at 45

Pootle40 · 12/01/2022 16:07

Journalist?
Hope not as the correct English would be 'too old' 🤣
GlintingFuriously · 12/01/2022 16:09

Wasn't for me - naturally conceived twins at 40 and had them at 41. It was an emergency Caesarean though so didn't actually "give birth" as such.

My mother also gave birth (albeit not to her first child) aged 40, and my grandmother aged 41 and again at 43.

diamondpony80 · 12/01/2022 16:09

A few of my friends have had their first babies in the past year. All are 40 or 41 and in good health.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 12/01/2022 16:10

My mum was 44 when she had me and I Was 40 when I had DD. I’d say go for it.

AliveAndSleeping · 12/01/2022 16:10

There is a difference between having sex and getting pregnant.Hmm

If you're pregnant at 41 then you haven't really got a huge number of other options.

My first, twins at 42 then another little shock at 45, all conceived naturally.
Twins now teenagers, and no I am not run into the ground with exhaustion!

Lockdownbear · 12/01/2022 16:19

@RebeccaIsCool

Whats the point you will never get to see them develop - the best part.
Wtf? OK if you give birth at 41 your unlikely ever to be able to tell a random new mum in a cafe "my eldest if 70" but then you fingers cross should still see them into their 30s.
