Kids aged between 5 and 10. We are self isolating and very fed up. Any suggestions please?

We've been watching dad's army. Also really liked the morcame and wise show. I think we are going to try keeping up appearances next.

pantjog · 12/01/2022 12:56

I came on to say Dad’s Army too. So funny.

GreenNewDealNow · 12/01/2022 13:13

Paddington 1 and 2

5hell · 12/01/2022 13:15

you've been framed?

my 5y old has been loving that recently

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 13:17

Oh I love Paddington it's lovely and funny.

Ghosts on iplayer is a joy written by the original horrible histories actors, might go over your 5 year old but definitely the eldest will get it.

Francescaisstressed · 12/01/2022 13:18

Hotel transylvania films - surprisingly hilarious
Paddington
Any of the Muppets film
Get some old classics - Mouse Hunt, The Borrowers etc

MorningStarling · 12/01/2022 13:18

Used to laugh my arse of at "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em" - can't abide it as an adult but hilarious as a child. Generally 70's and 80's sitcoms are funny for children, Del Boy falling through the bar and all that. Depending on your politics and attitudes remember that many of the programmes have the occasional slur or word that is offensive these days. It's usually edited out of TV broadcasts (e.g. referring to a corner shop as a "p_ki shop" in Only Fools and Horses) but still in the DVD versions. Streaming services are a mixed bag, iPlayer is usually censored but paid services less strict.

Ghosts (iplayer)
Goes Wrong Show (iplayer)
Taskmaster Beeped - with the swearing beeped out (All4)

CustardyCreams · 12/01/2022 13:23

We love watching those old re runs of Wipeout on Sky.

My 10 year old and I cried with laughter at the live action Dora film, and also the newer Jumanji film (that one probably not so good for a five year old).

We love Horrible Histories in my house too!

Oneearringlost · 12/01/2022 13:28

The Goodies?

HippyChickMama · 12/01/2022 13:33

My 8 year old dd is obsessed with Mr Bean, the original live action series rather than the animated one, they're all on Netflix

Redlorryyellowduck · 12/01/2022 13:36

Drop Dead Fred

MaudebeGonne · 12/01/2022 13:38

Inbestigators on Netflix. It's an Australian kids show, but it is really good. They are a team of private investigators, but it isn't anything wacky. Good fun.

NewPapaGuinea · 12/01/2022 13:41

Mr Bean

moostermum · 12/01/2022 13:43

Norbit

ISmellBurnings · 12/01/2022 13:46

Horrible Histories
Ghosts (for the 10 year old at least)

Any programme like Ninja Warrior/Total wipeout/I can see your voice/masked singer

ISmellBurnings · 12/01/2022 13:47

Oh we’ve just watched Encanto on Disney+ if you have that.

Lego masters

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 13:49

First series of the goes wrong show is better than series 2. Also see if Peter pan goes wrong is on Iplayer.

Stellaris22 · 12/01/2022 13:51

Is the first series of Goes Wrong Show on iPlayer now? We really want to watch it but there's only the second series. It's utterly fantastic.

mogschristmascalamity · 12/01/2022 13:53

Goes wrong show. Only 1 series on iplay sadly. Peter pan goes wrong is possibly on youtube.

Also second ghosts and goodies. Dd loves kitten kong. Its on dailymotion i think.

Mrsjayy · 12/01/2022 13:56

Oh I've just had a look its just the Christmas from series 1 which is a shame maybe it will come back round.

rosettesforjill · 12/01/2022 14:01

Mitchells Vs The Machines on Netflix Smile

SummerHouse · 12/01/2022 14:02

It's on Amazon but costs. Peter Pan that is. And Christmas Carol which we nearly cracked ribs over.
PatriotCanes · 12/01/2022 14:10

Total Wipeout.
Phineas and Ferb and Johnny Test were about the only cartoons I could cope with at that age.

I'm sure Peter Pan Goes Wrong is on YouTube somewhere.

LongestBedtimeStoryEver · 12/01/2022 14:12

My 6 and 8 year olds found Honey I shrunk the Kids hilarious!
