While your at it could you inform my 2 year old of that fact.

Draineddraineddrained · 03/01/2022 05:45

You know what's worse? Baby woke up at 4 to feed - she's now gone back to sleep and I can't!!!

Ohwhocares22 · 03/01/2022 05:45

It's not - 4.40 is according to my 2 year old. Who woke up the 5 year old Sad

KiloWhat · 03/01/2022 05:50

Classic. I swear they all club together to decide to do this.
UserError012345 · 03/01/2022 05:52

Could you tell my 9 year old too please

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/01/2022 05:56

Been awake since 2:30am. Just about to try to get some sleep and right on cue my toddler woke up. She's now loudly saying 'ello' to all the toys in the room and demanding a nappy on her favourite panda.
She'd also leaked so needed a full change. Looks like I'll be stuck on 1hr sleep tonight then (as usual).

bonetiredwithtwins · 03/01/2022 05:57

Ha 5am is very much the start of the day for my twins!

mayblossominapril · 03/01/2022 06:01

My 4 year old thinks 4 am is getting up time, my one year old is a little more civilised as she gets up at 5am.
Wouldn’t care if it was an odd night but 4 am is standard and I’m knackered

Greys007 · 03/01/2022 06:01

My 14m old thinks 4.30am is morning 😬 a 30 minute cuddle gets him back down until 6.30 which is much more reasonable 😅 but like @Draineddraineddrained I can’t get back to sleep! 6am on a Monday morning and I’ve already made pancakes for breakfast when he wakes and done a load of laundry 😴
He must have missed the memo that it’s my day off work and we get a wee long lie 😅😅

They don't care one single bit, do they? What really gets my goat is that he's then asleep at 6.30pm coz he's so knackered, and I just look at him snoozing peacefully and know he's going to be up at 5am the next bloody morning!

5am is my putting on wellies, coat, hat and heading off out with dog poo bags and a massive torch. My brain is like a teasmade, I swear if I was put under general anaesthesia in the middle of the night, I'd still sit bolt upright on the table smack bang on 4.30am.

50FootWave · 03/01/2022 06:16

And my 11year old! Never slept past 5.30am in his life.

Thisisit2022 · 03/01/2022 06:19

Someone tell my 'office job' boss that 5am on a Bank Holiday Monday I should be warming toastily in my bed and not fretting that I'm back in work.

Sirzy · 03/01/2022 06:21

Positively a lie in! Up since 3.30 watching inside the Tower of London with ds (12 and autistic)

Take any chance you can for a rest during the day. And drink all the coffee

bushtailadventures · 03/01/2022 06:22

I wish it was my dc getting me up early still, they stopped doing that a long time ago (all adults now) My brain on the other hand seems to think 3.30 is acceptable, 4 am is a lie in! 7yr old dgd is fast asleep or I'd be doing something productive, maybe.

WutheringHeights66 · 03/01/2022 06:30

And when your kids grow up the cats just carry on with those 4:50am starts, every single day.

Fundays12 · 03/01/2022 06:31

My 2 year old thanks 5 am is playtime. He enjoys making as much noise as possible to ensure he wakes his brothers up. We are all exhausted.

Zoom101 · 03/01/2022 06:42

Please could you also let my dog know that 4.40am is not the new 6am (which was bad enough) Angry

It’s a good job she’s pretty! Grin

Billybagpuss · 03/01/2022 06:50

Oh and just really rub salt into the wounds they do this until it becomes your default, then hit teenage sloth stage where they sleep til noon.

^^ This.

My 20 and 23 year olds, home for the holidays, will likely sleep in until around 10am. The younger of my two cats however finishes her night shift outside at around 5am and needs immediate human meal service or she might wither away and die apparently.

itsgettingweird · 03/01/2022 07:03

My ds is 17 and a swimmer.

4/5am is morning here 😫

But I agree - it shouldn't be 🤣

UniversalAunt · 03/01/2022 07:07

‘ 5am is my putting on wellies, coat, hat and heading off out with dog poo bags and a massive torch.’

Er, the dog?
I assume that you have dog(s) or are you the Lesser Spotted Bright Eyed Poo Picker-upper ? Wink

Etherealhedgehog · 03/01/2022 07:07

4.40am today, after a 3.30 wake up for Calpol (effing molars) and some milk, which I had REALLY hoped was gonna get us past five for once Sad

bcc89 · 03/01/2022 07:08

I tried putting the baby to bed later in the hope she'd lie in... Why did no one tell me that doesn't work? So she woke up tired and angry! Grin
