To think at 41 I can swap the shoulder I wear my handbag on

Yes I know that there are more important issues. No I’m not taking the piss.

OP posts:

You can’t. It would be like being in a parallel universe. I can’t even chew my food on the opposite side without it feeling odd 😂

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 01/01/2022 01:15

Agree with above poster. My bag was stolen three years ago and since then I've felt more secure with a cross body bag anyway.

ElinorOliphant · 01/01/2022 01:18

Jesus Christ OP where does it end?

Wearing your watch on the right wrist?

This cannot be done!

StormyCornishSeas · 01/01/2022 01:20

It's impossible I had a bad shoulder last year. It was literally impossible. I think that's partly why I've stopped using a handbag as much. And cross body bags which don't get much of an airing got used much more

Does anyone know why this is a thing?

mytrueaccount · 01/01/2022 01:21

I have done it and am now ambidextrous GrinMaybe try wearing one crossbody from the new shoulder at first so it can't slide off. Or, so you think the GP can help or is this strictly a call for new bags at once? 🤣

DramaAlpaca · 01/01/2022 01:22

I can't do it. I have a dodgy shoulder from years of bag carrying and I just can't. It feels so wrong.

madisonbridges · 01/01/2022 01:27

I'm ambi-shouldered. I can carry on either shoulder although my left seems a bit more comfortable but cross bodied that has to be on my right shoulder, with my bag on my left. I really feel very uncomfortable with a crossbows bag on my left shoulder.

madisonbridges · 01/01/2022 01:28

Nooo crossbows bag, although.... 🤔 Crossbody bag.

MrsBertBibby · 01/01/2022 01:32

I changed which side I part my hair. That was more than enough trauma for one decade.

Wheredidthequietgo · 01/01/2022 01:35

You all have a "side"?
Mine just goes on whichever side is nearest to the bag.....

vindaloopy · 01/01/2022 01:37

I've got a bad shoulder and have had to swap sides of the bed with DH after 25 years. It is not going well.

Beachhutgirl · 01/01/2022 01:38

I had to swap sides when I had a bad shoulder, but it didn't last, I could not resist swapping back when my shoulder was better. I did permanently change which side I sleep on though. And I can wear my watch on either wrist.

BrocolliHamster · 01/01/2022 01:38

I tried this but my hair revolted. I also looked wierd as fuck
HeronLanyon · 01/01/2022 01:39

Totally absurd idea.
(Other than tiny astonishingly talented minority posting here)

MenoMom · 01/01/2022 01:57

I couldn't even manage to swap shoulders with cross body bags - if bag not on right hip my body rejects it. Hope i never need a new kidney

Lacedwithgrace · 01/01/2022 02:02

Absolutely not. Not happening. No.

FabriqueBelgique · 01/01/2022 02:08

Do we all have one slippery shoulder? Shock

devuskums · 01/01/2022 02:09

Nope sorry. I have had to get a rucksack.

sbhydrogen · 01/01/2022 02:11

I'd sooner buy a new clutch than wear a bag on the wrong shoulder!

Thunderpunt · 01/01/2022 02:13

You need a bumbag... alternatively known as a fannypack i the us of a...
You're welcome

Inthetropics · 01/01/2022 02:13

It's possible! After developing some serious issues that cause pain on my right shoulder i managed to start using my handbag on my left shoulder. It took me a few months to get used to it.

Butchyrestingface · 01/01/2022 02:19

Since you are clearly suffering, I would suggest going ALL IN and purchasing a backpack. I love 'em.

LondonQueen · 01/01/2022 02:40

Nope, it'll only go on the right side or the left arm. A crossbody bag might work?

OwMyToe · 01/01/2022 02:41

I think it would be nearly impossible, though I believe I could manage to wear it across my body. I have enough trouble wearing it on the usual shoulder! The dratted thing likes to slide off, if I accidentally put it on over my hair.

Glitterblue · 01/01/2022 03:13

I couldn't. It falls off my left shoulder for some reason! I've recently got a handbaggish-looking backpack because I'm on crutches at the moment, and this is much easier than even the shoulder I'm used to.
