Feel unattractive after false eyelashes came off

Maddymorphosis · 30/12/2021 15:14

Had cluster lashes which stayed on just over a week, they looked great and felt 100 times more attractive, but I'm now aware they have a bad rep.

Never had false eyelashes before, I've heard they can damage your natural lashes but i can't tell if they have with mine.

I just feel so piggy eyed and plain now without them on. They are expensive, don't think I can afford them very often but feel so 'bald" without them.

Anyone else had this after eyelashes? Am I just used to seeing myself with the false ones ?

Maybelline Lash Primer link here

@2022newname That made me laugh Grin

I have no idea what MY DH thinks about lashes, I MUST ask him. His general mantra is very much along the lines of "If it makes you happy and you don't get into debt over it, do what you like"

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 30/12/2021 16:52

Use a lash growth serum. Revitalash is the best I have tried. Keep using, every night. Then in 6 weeks have Lash lift and tint. Much better than false lashes and lash extensions.

Dingdong99 · 30/12/2021 16:53

Cupcakes yes that's the one

I was sceptical as I've tried other products that didn't do much, but I swear by this one. I wouldn't be without it now!! On maybe my 4th bottle in 2 years or so

It can take ages to work, it took about 2.5 months for me of applying every day. But then they suddenly grew!

Quite a few friends of mine now use it having seen mine! I also now use the eye brow version and have to have brow appointments for the first time!

AffIt · 30/12/2021 16:54

Fuck me, what a tragic thread this is.

OP, do you know that most false lashes are extracted from minks living in fur farms?

TippledPink · 30/12/2021 16:54

I used to have individual lashes until the first lockdown and haven't bothered since. I much much prefer how I looked with them, she did them very natural so didn't look like big fluttery wings. She was good value but they needed doing every other week (£20). I had them done for my wedding in October by someone else, they lasted 2 months which was amazing, but very thick (too thick for me for every day wear) and expensive (£60) and took forever to put on! But they did last!

My lashes were never damaged, I always had lots and lots of lashes even after wearing individuals for over 4 years nonstop.

Nobody - literally fucking NOBODY - apart from you, the animals and the low-paid humans involved in your weird vanity - gives a shit what your eyelashes look like.

Just use mascara.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/12/2021 17:00

Eyelash curler turn Maybelline collosal mascara

Cupcakeschocolate · 30/12/2021 17:00

Thanks @dingdong99 they have it on offer so might give it a go. I don't 'do beauty' turning 30 next week and feel like I need to start looking after myself a bit. After 4 kids, and running a business with my husband I have neglected myself quite a bit!

JohnSmithDrive · 30/12/2021 17:00

I'm generally a fairly low maintenance sort, but I recently had a lash lift and tint which I love . Kind of inbetween natural and falsies.

Mine was £25 and three weeks on still going strong.

MinnieJackson · 30/12/2021 17:00

My aunty always has lash extensions and they look so wispy. This Xmas she had some sort of tinsel in them and her eyes were all blood shot and watery 😂

WaningMoon · 30/12/2021 17:05

I agree with you. It’s a sad state of affairs that this is what people concern themselves with.

The cosmetics and “beauty” industry has really done a number of young people today.

This is true in some cases but alot of them are plastic, so people just need to ask for synthetic.
Thatsplentyjack · 30/12/2021 17:07

I get nova lashes. Absolutely love them. Works out at around £15/week. I hardly wear make up anymore but I have pretty big eyes and and with very short, straight eyelashes they tend to look very bare. It's hard to explain. The lashes sort of frame my eyes.

NumberTheory · 30/12/2021 17:08

@Maddymorphosis

Yes I might try the magnetic ones, just want a long term solution that isn't expensive or damaging, not sure how feasible it is !
You realise that this just plays into your idea that you are unattractive without them and that women are not enough as they are?

This has been somewhat undermined by “just use mascara”. Cluster lashes aren’t mink. And nobody except the OP has to care.
AffIt · 30/12/2021 17:17

@Wisewordswouldhelp

It doesn't matter! Plastic is worse, if anything!

FFS, just stop sticking stuff to your face.

Moonshine5 · 30/12/2021 17:19

I have eyelash perms and with mascara they look amazing and don't fall off

ElizabethT8 · 30/12/2021 17:27

@BlondeDogLady

Before and after lash lift and dye. Lasts weeks. Cost £30.
But you can see the underneath of your upper lid! why would you want that? Just use eyelash curlers for a better effect.
Hippychicken1 · 30/12/2021 17:54

I pay £90 a month at my beauticians and can have mine done every week if I wanted along with eyebrow tints and waxing shaping
I normally go every 10 days to mine redone
But maybeline has a great mascara that I used to use that was really good in making my eyelashes look nice
But I much prefer false ones

Is that like a monthly fee for any treatments you want? Sounds fab.
Lolabray · 30/12/2021 17:56

Yes I have as they make you feel glam. Get some falsies stuck on or a 4d building lash mascara to give more length. Cluster lashes bad for the eyelashes in long term use

violetbunny · 30/12/2021 17:59

I second using Revitalash. My lashes are naturally quite short. Revitalash definitely works, my lashes are noticeably longer, and with the help of an eyelash curler and mascara they really look great.

It does take a bit of persistence and you have to be very consistent with using it but after 2 months of daily use my lashes were much longer,.

What exactly is a lash lift? I wear mascara so rarely now since covid, and even in the office opt to do my eyebrows over lashes quite regularly. But to have lashes that look like that for 6 weeks with no effort is very appealing.
KarlUrbansWife · 30/12/2021 18:08

@Badabingbadatinselbum It's basically a perm for lashes, makes the curl stick for longer. I tried it a couple of times, at different salons, but it won't stick longer than a couple of weeks for me unfortunately.
