To wonder why I didn’t get engaged this weekend?

(Lighthearted because knowing me I’ve probably got totally the wrong end of the stick)
Last week I stumbled across a ring box hidden away (I honestly wasn’t snooping I just accidentally found it while putting something away). Obviously I didn’t say anything. But now we’ve had Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and no proposal.
I’m just baffled generally tbh as we’re not that type of couple, we’ve always said when we want to get married we’ll just start planning it together. We’ve had quite an up and down year with covid obviously and DP got ill in the summer, but we also had our first successful pregnancy so I thought maybe he’d decided to make a big gesture. But nothing.
Has he changed his mind? 😂
Was it not actually for me? 😂
It’s so silly I just keep laughing at myself. What’s going on?? 😂😂

They do though and the 'I found an engagement ring' threads have always been very popular.

I only follow them to see the variety of 'reasons' the OP can come up with, to keep people hanging

My husband bought the ring in August and proposed in February....after shooting me down that an engagement would be unlikely for the foreseeable...on my birthday...he then proposed a week later whilst we were away on a mini-break.

Al I'm saying is you could be waiting a while and he could do it when you least expect it!

If that's a buttplug you drew that fits into a ring box, that bad boy is getting lost!! 🤣

I went on our laptop and started to type something in and it auto filled engagement rings!! So I knew he was thinking about it but it still took a few months for him to propose he decided to do it on my birthday which was a couple of month later. He's obviously waiting for right time. You do need to telling us all tho!!

I had this exact scenario with my exh.. I saw the box in the bedroom drawer in the November and he proposed on NYE... which is also my birthday
