To ask if you've regifted anything already?

I have. Pink gin miniatures and a huge box of Ferrero Rocher. Can't stand either of them, so they've already gone to different neighbours who will enjoy them! Yes, they know they are regifts (we're all friends).

Have you or will you be regifting anything?

@BeautifulTulips

January birthday here - I'd love a voucher.

Volterra · 26/12/2021 10:48

A gift set from my Dad that went to my DD’s partner’s aunt who is looking after her whilst she has covid. We did a run down with meds etc and DD’s presents, all very last minute so I had to improvise.

WalkingOnSonshine · 26/12/2021 10:53

Only one item to gift from me - my mum always buys a cleanser from a brand I don’t use. I sold 3 of them earlier in December, so will add this one too.

DS has a bag of gifts that we will sell on. Mainly toys that are too young for him or that he already has similar of. Probably about 6-7 items plus a few bits of clothing. I’ll stick it on Vinted and might get £40 for it all.

TheDuchessOfMN · 26/12/2021 11:01

Hot water bottle. It was lovely actually, but I have an electric blanket

I got lots of Santa Rita 120 white Wine. It’s my least favourite wine, but I’ll probably still drink it Blush

I give any gift sets to teen dd - nivea, boots etc. She appreciates them

SilverHairedCat · 26/12/2021 11:05

I'm jealous of the sugar mouse - not seen one in years! Loved them.

And hell yes to regifting children's chocolate to the parents.

Got a perfume/body lotion thing from my mum which I won't use so it has gone to teenage DD who is delighted with it.

I am a charity shop volunteer and we see lots of unwanted gifts coming in after Christmas/New Year. We're very grateful for all your unwanted toiletry sets, candles, slippers, pyjamas and everything else as they sell very well and unless overtly Christmassy will be out on the shelves for Valentine's, mother's day etc.

IglesiasPiggl · 26/12/2021 11:27

Not regifted yet but I already have my charity shop donation ready. I always clear out the games cupboard every Christmas so it's the games we don't play any more, plus I have added a lovely facial soap I received that is nice but I don't like the smell personally.

ChimpyChops · 26/12/2021 11:51

@WhatScratch

’A candle I will never use, tropical something or other. My ex husband who comes for Christmas … ’

I though that was a list at first Grin

Grin unfortunately I cannot regift the ex-husband, he doesn't want the hassle of another marriage 🤣

My mum makes me and DP a chocolate hamper every year and it's amazing - but she always puts Ferrero Rocher in there despite knowing neither of us like them. It's so weird because every single other item is perfect and one of my favourites. So I knocked next door and gave them to our neighbour as he loves them! So win win I suppose as I needed to get him something anyway!
3scape · 26/12/2021 12:06

Yes. I'm not a Christmas person so the biscuits well intentioned boss gave me went to the foodbank last week

Kshhuxnxk · 26/12/2021 12:09

I don't regret ie pass something off as something I'd bought but I do give gifts away if I won't use them. I ha e one gift I won't use so it will go in charity bag.

RaraRachael · 26/12/2021 12:13

MiLs gifts are in the charity shop bag ready for when it reopens. She knew we were travelling to see them with presents but got a gift bag and stuck 2 things she'd had in the house for years into it - a candle that is so old it has no smell whatsoever and a necklace that I'm sure the firm haven't made for at least 20 years. I can't remember the last time I got anything new or useful Hmm

PodgyMcPodgerson · 26/12/2021 12:14

I could quite happily regift my H at the moment

BillywigSting · 26/12/2021 12:16

Not me but ds has been given a few things he has already (telescope, rock painting kit - has one still from his birthday that he has shown zero interest in, a couple of books) so they will end up either at the charity shop or regifted as birthday presents for his friends.

We (me, dp and ds8) were collectively given over a dozen boxes of chocolates /biscuits so we will probably end up taking a few of those into work to leave in the staff room for people to help themselves as none of us has a particularly sweet tooth.

Anything ds has been given just for himself though we will keep and he can have a bit every day.

Ohdofuckoffcovid · 26/12/2021 12:17

Not me but my teens regifted there unwanted presents from a rellie to me, scarf I’ll keep, bag going to charity shop.

Hellocatshome · 26/12/2021 12:20

I've got a little pile set aside for giving to DS's sports club raffle at their event the end of January. A nice set of 4 mugs but we have mugs coming out of our ears, a hardback book that we already have, a little lego set that I know will sit unopened in DS's room until we eventually get sick of seeing it as he doesnt like lego and a few little packs of bath bombs that I suppose we might eventually use but we normally all just shower so they may as well go to the raffle and make some money for the club.

gingerbiscuits · 26/12/2021 12:22

Work Secret Santa gift. Clearly a 'can't be arsed' purchase from someone in what I thought was a close team. Gutted.

autieok · 26/12/2021 12:25

Me and my adult dd's do it while opening. I gave one a scarf and took socks from another. I'd bought one dd rum which she doesn't like 🙈 so she gave it to other dd. We also put aside chocs to gift to others x

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 26/12/2021 12:31

Nothing to regift here but I think we have been the lucky recipients of a regifted Christmas cake, a bottle of wine and M&S light up gin globe.

UnsuitableHat · 26/12/2021 12:36

I’ve received a box of cheese biscuits AS a regift. Happy days.

MonicaGellerBing · 26/12/2021 12:42

I've tried to regift a waffle make my mil got me but I can't even give it away 🤣🤣 it'll be going to the charity in the new year!

MonicaGellerBing · 26/12/2021 12:43

Maker*

OhGiveUp · 26/12/2021 13:30

Not me personally, but DH got a lynx Africa shower gel / body spray set. He hates scented shower gels and doesn't wear body spray / deo, so that will be given to our neighbours teen son.

MrsToothyBitch · 26/12/2021 14:02

A pair of socks. Very nice, beautifully packaged stocking filler DKNY socks. I've asked my mum if she'd like to take them when I next see her. They're nice but useless to me because I don't own a single pair of trousers, I just wear tights with skirts and dresses. Mum accepted happily because she gets through them fast- they wear out against her orthotics.

HelloDoris · 26/12/2021 14:14

A book I already had, which was very well received. We have had a million chocolate oranges, so some of those will be regifted as they are now pretty gross..
