I needed a few minutes pause halfway through my Christmas dinner. This is unusual and I was surprised but I've been eating less generally lately due to being busy/cba and not snacking anything like I normally do. Don't worry, I soon recovered and finished my veg but did give away my Yorkshire puddings to the dc. I just didn't fancy them which again is odd. I then managed a further 2 stuffing balls while chatting to my mum and finishing my wine. We were chatting about how we don't know how people can have a starter, main course, pudding, cheese and crackers etc all at one sitting. We don't even have meat although we did when I was a child.

Part of today may have been the fact I was co stay my on the go as mums often are and spending ages in the kitchen seems to decrease my appetite.

Breakfast: homemade cinnamon bun and two cups of tea

Second (more reasonable hour) breakfast: a fried potato sandwich

Christmas dinner: honey roast parsnips and carrots, roast potatoes, marrow fat peas, broccoli, cranberry sauce, stuffing balls x4 (or was it 5Blush) and a glass of wine

Pudding (several hours later): homemade sticky gingerbread Bundt cake

Supper: cheese and crackers (5)

Baileys while watching Call the Midwife

About 5 chocolates, 2 chocolate biscuits, one after eight mint, 3 cheesy Doritos and a few glasses of water.

Oh and a mince pie.

What did you have? Traditional or not? Family traditions that others might find weird? Tell me your Christmas Day gastronomic delights.

Pudding (7pm) Christmas pud with custard

Snacks for supper: 2 chocolates from quality street tin, bag of prawn cocktail crisps, slice of emmental, 2 bread sticks, 10 olives.

Starter at Xmas dinner was a roll, pate and about 4 canapé type things, Xmas dinner about 5 parsnips, two roast potatoes and a a couple of bites of turkey and stuffing, desert was slice of cheesecake. Call the midwife was where it all went even worse, about 7 more Lindt balls, some crackers, pate and cheese and 4 left over canapés.

Today I haven't stopped eating!

I had quarter of a bacon and chicken caesar wrap I sent DH out for late last night that I didn't finish (pregnancy craving but had a gastric sleeve so I can't ear a lot at once.

Half a slice of bread, spoon of tinned tomatoes, half a slice of bacon and 1/4 sausage.

2 Ferrero rocher

Half a croissant with Nutella.

Dinner was 1 slice of beef, 2 Brussels sprouts, 1 slice of carrot, 1 potato, a mouthful of a Yorkshire pudding.

Small portion of Christmas pud and cream

A handful of pringles

4 mini sausage rolls.

2 more Ferrero rocher.

I'm a pig, I really haven't stopped grazing all day...quite obvious from this list lol

MrsToothyBitch · 25/12/2021 23:50

@festivesprinkles - just the name of the recipe, I think. My mum got it from a chef in a restaurant, he'd headed the recipe with the name and we always refer to it. Presumably because they're more-ish!

AllLopsided · 25/12/2021 23:53

We had Christmas dinner in the early evening so I tried to be restrained during the day. Not drinking much due to medication.
Breakfast - berries and yoghurt, tea
Lunch - oatcakes, cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado
Afternoon - cup of tea and piece of homemade ginger shortbread
Dinner - Roast beef (lots), roast potatoes (lots), mashed swede, carrots, sprouts. Small glass of red wine.
1.5 hour rest then huge piece of Christmas pudding with cream and brandy butter
6 marshmallows, 2 toffees and a peppermint tea

Tomorrow I'm cooking the ham I should have cooked on Christmas Eve but forgot to defrost!
