To think Young Sheldon is better than The Big Bang Theory?

Obvs a thread for those whove seen both.

I loved TBBT since it started, it's in my regular rotation of "background tv", and I think it's done a world of good for those whose interest lie outside of the "norm".

Just finished the first 3 seasons of Young Sheldon, mainly as something to watch on the dark winter nights, and I absolutely love it.

Its warm, got that comforting early 90s glow, funny. I love the little comments from Adult Sheldon that give hints as to how his and Amy's life has carried on from the end of TBBT.

So as a hardened TBBT fan, I'm saying it now. YS is better.

I love the characters and they balance each other really well. Nobody is just in to make up the numbers, everyone has a role.

In truth, I don't get why people need to pick holes in it or look for issues. TBBT wasn't written with the intention of there being a 'prequel' , and most viewers don't 'study' their light entertainment, they just watch and enjoy the shows.
Surely we can agree they are both great shows and just watch and enjoy ?

I thought TBBT was a pile of sexist shite but happy to give YS a go.

Oh, I just finished TBBT and loved it. I’ve been wondering whether to give YS a go and you’ve convinced me to do so.

I really loved TBBT, it was like checking in on a lovely friend group since mine has dwindled so much with WFH.

I love both.

Probably not a surprise.

I suspect I am more meemaw than Sheldon sometimes.

Yanbu, I absolutely love Young Sheldon. There isn't one unlikeable character in it. The impending affair is being really well written. I've also cried a few times watching it. My DC were like this

The affair thing is going to break my heart - I just know it.

But yes, it has been written beautifully.

I’m back to being Sheldon as I can hear the fridge freezer whine a little.

I wish I could stop it but I won’t be dismantling it. Not only do I have the image of YS being surrounded by fridge bits but Alan Partridge and his Corby trouser press.

It wouldn’t end well…
