This is a lighthearted thread for a bit of fun.
I'd love to know who you would invite and why.
I'll start. I'd invite the Dalai Lama because I'm sure he would put everything that stresses me out into perspective. Smile

Not lighthearted but… my dad (very severe end stage dementia and has been in a home for 6 years), and my darling mum who died of Covid in January. I miss her so much every day and she loved Xmas day

My brother. Who should have been but he got covid.

Other than that David Bowie, Captain Jack Sparrow and the Italian Eurovision singery man.

zen1 · 24/12/2021 15:49

David Hockney. Think he would be really interesting to talk to.

@ChampagneCommunist

Claudia Winkleman - I bet she'd be a real hoot!
I second Claudia...she's fabulous!!
OriginalLilibet · 24/12/2021 15:54

Margaret Thatcher, Dennis Thatcher, Mark Thatcher and ……….. Carol Thatcher.

Basically, the Thatchers.

BasiliskStare · 24/12/2021 15:56

inter alia - Miriam Margolys - she always seems to have a funny anecdote

ArblemarzipanTFruitcake · 24/12/2021 16:00

I would choose my late grandparents - to relive childhood Christmases. They died at the turn of the century.

I wish we were seeing my two DDs, their partners and my 2 DGSons.

Thanks to Covid concerns younger DD2 is staying home with her partner and going to his Mums tomorrow. Older DD1 with DGSons has gone, as they do every Xmas, to inlaws in Wales. They never spend Xmas in their own home as there is a huge family including two cousins the same age as DGSons in Wales, and they won't come to us ever. We are only an hour's drive away, unlike Wales which is 4 -5 hours.

Am sad but DD1 just says by going to Wales she gets a break because there are so many people there to keep kids entertained.

Maybe a bit obscure but I would chose Laura Richards of Crime Analyst (Podcast). She is a true champion of women, speaks so eloquently and I find her really interesting. I imagine she is quite good fun too. I wish she was my friend!
