This is a lighthearted thread for a bit of fun.
I'd love to know who you would invite and why.
I'll start. I'd invite the Dalai Lama because I'm sure he would put everything that stresses me out into perspective. Smile

Anybody who would cook it

Francescaisstressed · 24/12/2021 12:13

My gramp, 10 years without him and every year at Christmas it feels like the hole in my heart gets bigger.
On a lighter note, I'd absolutely love Paul Rudd, the Queen and Louis Theroux.

A chef to cook it

Francescaisstressed · 24/12/2021 12:14

Bob Mortimer - what a character!
He always has the best stories on 'would I lie to you'
sadpapercourtesan · 24/12/2021 12:14

Lucy Worsley
Hilary Mantel
Anne Boleyn
Thomas Cromwell

Goldilocks99 · 24/12/2021 12:15

Jk Rowling because she's amazing and I could quiz her about hp.
Robert Carlyle for eye candy.
Sarah Pascoe and the guy that does Ranganation, because they'd entertain us and not turn their noses up at veggie fare.
George RR Martin so I could discuss asoiaf but only if it didn't interfere with him writing wow.

Sexnotgender · 24/12/2021 12:16

My MIL. She died really suddenly 2 years ago and it would make my husband so happy to show her our beautiful children and spend the day with her.

Loveisthere · 24/12/2021 12:17

Ruby Wax I am often compared to her, comedy wise not looks. I am sure we would have a ball

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 24/12/2021 12:21

I'd like Sara Cox, Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet. I think Dorothy Parker might be a laugh too. Grin

Apart from dear departed relatives... Jo Brand, Caroline Quentin, that pissed Irish fellas from Black Books, The Pogues can bring some tunes and Nigella Lawson can help me cook.

CactusLemonSpice · 24/12/2021 13:51

Damn I wish I'd thought of inviting Louis Theroux! Sounds like he's got plans with PP now, though

HailAdrian · 24/12/2021 13:54

My mum, she died recently and I didn't see her last xmas because I didn't want to kill her with covid.

As far as lighthearted goes, a musician I quite fancy would do, can't say who as it's super outing.

I love Louis Theroux but I'd worry he was secretly filming my crazy family life for a new series!
