Has got the best singing voice you've heard. For me it's James Arthur. I know there are more powerful voices out there but I just think he has such a lovely unique tone to his voice. Who would you choose?

OP posts:

Yebba (Abigail Smith)- My Mind is probably the best live performance I’ve ever seen😭

Dita73 · 24/12/2021 03:44

Luther Vandross

Newestname002 · 24/12/2021 03:55

Gregory Porter
Sam Smith
Sally Dworsky ("When you believe" from Prince of Egypt) 🌹

James Arthur’s voice is so good. There seems to be a bit of snobbery on here OP. 🙄 It’s like if you don’t say someone from a hundred years ago it’s some sort of sin. Weird. Anyway I’ve seen him live and he’s amazing. His new album is one of my favourites at the moment.

SparkleWhale · 24/12/2021 03:59

Chris Stapleton and Shoshana Bean

Chris Stapleton is unbelievably good. I think country music has some great voices. Luke Combs is amazing.

Dolly Parton - the most naturally tuneful singer and talented funny song writer imho

Listen to the lyrics of this Travelling Man very funny

MsCupcake · 24/12/2021 04:31

Agree with Mama Cass, so effortless
Meatloaf for sheer range & emotion
Matt Monro like melted chocolate running down the spine

Renan Zonta

ImmutableSexQueen · 24/12/2021 05:18

But David Draiman is very good ...

UsernameInTheTown · 24/12/2021 05:28

I Love Frank Carter (Gallows, And The Rattlesnakes) and Post Malone's voices.
No idea if this is embarassing or not, I expect it would be in DD7's eyes Grin.

DedafalalalalalusBloom · 24/12/2021 06:31

Sandy Denny
Joni Mitchell
Paul Janeway
Jeff Buckley ( Tim close second!)

SarahDippity · 25/12/2021 00:24

Can I add Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Aretha Franklin and Sinéad O’Connor?

thatonesmine · 25/12/2021 00:31

Elizabeth Fraser. Peerless.

JeffThePilot · 25/12/2021 00:38

David Draiman does have a great voice.

I’d choose Steve Balsamo though.

James Arthur, no I don’t really get that. But better than the PP who said Sam Smith, he just sounds like a sad foghorn.

She has a lovely sounding voice but the absolute worst diction.
WhistlersandJugglers · 25/12/2021 00:41

I love Chris Stapleton but I think Jamey Johnson has a better voice. I also love Alison Kraus and there's something very pure about Townes van Zandt, he just has something in his voice that nobody else does.

BadPlaceJanet · 25/12/2021 00:43

Karen Carpenter
Eva Cassidy
Hope Sandoval

And - I wouldn't say "best singing voice" at all, but in terms of sheer raw emotion, Kurt Cobain in Nirvana Unplugged. Sends shivers down the spine, and that counts as much as technical ability.

WhistlersandJugglers · 25/12/2021 00:46

Nirvana Unplugged is an amazing album, great choice of songs that really suit his voice.

Bucanarab · 25/12/2021 00:53

Jan Thore Grefstad
Tobias Forge
Till Lindeman
Olly Knights
Leo Moracchioli
