Not an aibu but I'm seriously at my witts end and need help!!! Does anyone know what can be done to stop Tommee Tippee bottles from leaking? We have the anti colic ones plus the standard bottles and the bottles leak non stop. Especially when we're making bottles and have to shake for 10 secs to mix the formula.

Somehow we've been dealing with this for 7 months but are now expecting a second and I can't be dealing with this nonsense day to day. If no one has any suggestions on what to do to stop the leaking, is there any other bottles that you'd recommend? Please help!!

Hate them with a passion. Gave up and got dr brown

I have 6 month old. We went for Tommy tipee anti colic bottles thinking they were the best but had same issues as you. They seem over engineered. We got some bottles from Tesco much cheaper and much better in my experience

And loved breastflow bottles if your combo feeding as need same action as breastfeeding

Just to add op, I have 2 glass tommee tippee bottles now and they’ve never leaked.

They don't leak @chinabumps85 it's the formula left on the teat after shaking. If you watch and wait for all /most of it to run off back into the bottle you'll notice very little escapes, nothing worth moaning about anyway.

Im in two minds as we haven't had any colic or feeding problems at all with our two. Maybe the anti colic bottles helped? But then the bottles are so fiddly!!!!

@Ahblahblablahumbug the bottles don't leak via the teat, it leaks via the side of the bottles just underneath where the lid screws on. I'll defo moan about it because it's been happening for ages

I personally found the perfect prep machine to be a bit too fiddly and found it easier to do bottles by boiling the kettle. I'm just going to buy new bottles and look into the Mam brand because I really have no energy😂

For choice, I use Avent, but sometimes parents prefer to supply their own bottles.

I've had the occasional problem with Tommee Tippee bottles leaking, never had a problem with Avent, MAM or NUK.

Dr. Browns frequently leaked and Medela leaked copiously every single feed, no matter what I did. I thought they might have improved by the time the mother had her second child and presented me with another set to use, but they were just as bad. I was so glad when they moved onto toddler cups!

newmamahere · 02/01/2022 23:22

I've not had any leaking from TT bottles

NeverDropYourMooncup · 02/01/2022 23:30

Going back in my memory to the Dark Ages, the only time milk came out when shaking to mix was when the water was too hot.

Because I used cold water sterilisation, my hands had been liberally doused in solution - I found the easiest way to shake them up was to put my index finger tip over the hole and shake side to side rather than up and down as well.

I had the exact same problem with my anti colic tomme tippe bottles. They'd leak everywhere all over baby sometimes and this was the case even when it was all screwed in properly. I also had an issue with milk not coming out of the teat properly and poor baby would be sucking for ages and no milk would come out. I've never had any issues since I swapped to mam bottles.
