AIBU to think a duvet cover with a cat design shouldn't be hard to find?!

DD wants a duvet cover with cats on it. She likes colourful things and has grown out of pink, pretty much. (Thank fuck!)

You wouldn't think it'd be that hard to find, would you?

But cats don't seem to be in fashion any more!

There's no end of unicorns, sloths, llamas, pugs etc. But I can't find many cat duvet covers - except for subtle designs she won't be keen on or ones that cost about £60 for a single!

This feels like an impossible task! Can anyone help?!

This tabby one?

43leftfeet · 08/12/2021 22:24

@MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry

Oh clever, I didn't think of that hmm

FFS.

Well I mean, I had to ask, because there are loads there.

Yes, and if you follow the links, you'll find loads are

a. £60+ (all the ones on Etsy)
b. pink
c. subtle colours
d. Christmas designed, not for all year
e. none of the above but out of stock

I'd already tried, hence asking here.

As above...would big cats appeal?
It's only a fiver for unknown reason (em dog stock?), and looks a very nice, 'grown up' but interesting, design

@Happyface120

Too pink, but thanks :)

*end of stock, not em dog stock 😅

43leftfeet · 08/12/2021 22:26

@reallyalurker

See, DD would love that but my DM would hate it! And it's her present to DD.

The John Lewis one is too subtle and the ones on the second link are £99! Shock

You and me must have different versions of google. Me and everyone else who has managed to find all these duvet sets

That's amazingly cheap! I think I'll get one anyway, I like it and can't resist a bargain!

But still need a cat one for her gran to give her.

Those are lovely - I think I need to stick to cats though as it's what she asked for. She's obsessed with cats. (Unless it's a fiver in which case I clearly can't resist it! Grin)

I'd seen them. And I love them! Thanks.

But a duvet cat is not just for Christmas! I'm looking for something that isn't Christmas themed.

Could you talk your DM round to the one your DD would love? The point of a gift is to bring joy to the recipient, after all…

I saw someone mention IKEA earlier, I’m assuming they too own this Grin The pattern on it is in a deep/forest green, just in case it’s not clear on your screen. From some of what you’ve said it might fall under Too Subtle, but thought it was worth providing the option. (Is your DD still [of an age where she’s] interested in imaginary play? Because the wee green cats on this bedding set are the PERFECT size to “put” in your pocket & take on adventures with you. Those great things on the one your DM wouldn’t like would be taking you places, like Susan & Lucy on a domestic Aslan.)

BorisStopOffendingYourBarber · 08/12/2021 22:40

Thanks OP, I’ve now gone on a Google mission to find a cat duvet when I should be getting on with so many other things 🙈 Plus there are a fair few I actually like myself but really shouldn’t be buying 😂
