Taking DD to see Six at the weekend (Vaudeville Theatre) but understand it's not a theatre that mandates masks.

So, if you've been to the West End theatre lately, what was the mask wearing like?

I went to the theatre a few times and won’t wear one of I can help it. It’s warm and my glasses steam up. Not paying for a show I can’t see.

Went to theatre a few weeks ago on a Saturday matinee. About ten people in the stalls wearing masks.

Went to see A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic about 3 weeks ago and a lot of people were wearing masks. Some took them when they were seated but put them on to move around during the interval.

@Yearonebesties

Saw Hamilton over the weekend. Most people wore them walking around, almost everyone took them off when the show started.
I also saw Hamilton at the weekend (matinee performance) and thought that the vast majority that we could see wore masks throughout.

Staff were also checking Covid passes on the way in and cleaning touch points in the building as people arrived and throughout the interval (eg brass hand rails of the stairs and balcony).

I've heard some of the theatres are doing staggered arrival times for the audience, for crowd control, how does that work? People already in their seats an hour before it starts?

It’s not really happening. They give you an arrival time but no one is adhering to it.

@WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks we were there on Saturday right at the front of the stalls - no one near us was wearing one when it started!

I’ve got a few things lined up before Christmas . It’ll be interesting to see what others do where there is a choice . I wear a mask all day at work so wearing one on public transport and at the venue will not be difficult for me .
