I want to take my children to HP world but there are no available dates before February 22
AIBU to think I might be able to find a way to score some tickets for dates between 23-31 December?

The butterbeer is like cream soda mixed with the plasticky tasting caramel syrup that some coffee shops use.

Is it terrible that I like the sound of this? 🙈

I do wish people would clarify if they're talking about butterbeer or butter beer. We can't possibly give helpful advice without knowing.

The food is very expensive but I thought the kids’ box meal was good value and I really liked the Knight Bus box it comes in - we’ve still got it as a souvenir six months later. We also bought our 2 older kids the butter beer with the souvenir cups. I think it was £7 but to be honest that saved me from feeling the need to buy them much in the gift shop and they still use the cups at home regularly.

There were available tickets most days in the summer. I had to keep refreshing the booking page. They popped up round about 11pm/midnight for the next day. I'm guessing last minute cancellations? If you are flexible maybe that's an option.

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing

It is fantastic when you get there - even if you don’t like HP!
How is it fantastic if you don’t like Harry Potter?

@MasterBeth my DP had never seen or read a HP book or film. He came with me anyway and started watching the films the next day.

Have you been? The bit at the end (don't want to spoil it for those yet to visit) clinched it I think.

Because there’s loads of really interesting stuff about set and costume design, and film making generally

Went with my Mum (and my kids, plus au pair who wanted to go the first time) both times who is not a follower of HP, and she found it really interesting.

I don’t mean if you hate HP with a passion, I mean if you are neutral/ not that clued up on it.

@fenulla thank you! 😊

We have previously got tickets for January (they keep Xmas displays up for January) through a travel agent (that has now gone bust) with a hotel deal. We bought it in December when all the studio tickets were showing as sold out.

(I know OP has found tickets, but it might help someone else)

You can expect weekends or school hols (especially in Dec) to be very busy, unless you go early or late. Masks and sanitise frequently...

It was great but queues for all the interactive stuff. That was in part why it took so long to get round.

Take a packed lunch or eat at the cafe that's near the entrance, before you start the tour, would be my advice. The cafe in the middle of the site had a very, very long queue and very few tables left (this was around 2.30pm). The kids were hungry and tired by then so was glad we had brought food with us.

The staff were lovely, do take time to speak to some of them at the exhibitions, they're very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
