...for coming home at 9am this morning without so much as a text, never mind a phone call, to let me know that he wasn't coming home at all last night after a night out with 'the boys'!!

And i had to be out of the house to collect a gift for dd at 8am this morning ...needless to say i didn't get the gift i wanted for her

He gave a token apology and a brief explanation as to where he had been, before promptly taking himself off to bed - arrrrrrrghhhh.

So is it me, or am i right to be annoyed because dh thinks i'm making a fuss over nothing (not that i got the chance to even make a fuss ...)??

Not sure how he'd react coppertop, cos it just wouldn't happen!!!

I'm pretty certain he wouldn't be overly impressed though ...

Definitely thought i was overreacting though

Rudolph - He probably was just being inconsiderate. Tell him when he gets up that you want a full explanation and a promise that it's not going to happen again. Explain you were REALLY worried and don't want to wake up at 6am worrying whether he is dead in a ditch somewhere! Don't worry about whether he was with someone else, just worry that he's not going to do it again. Chances are he is just BLOODY STUPID and too drunk to think.

Thanks LSOBS - thats what my instinct is telling me.

I'm just really really pee-ed off with him and it adds insult to injury when he accuses me of overreacting

If it's his first time of doing it I would make sure he knows it is MAJOR.
Warn him that you can accept it once but this is not the life you wish to leave and if he wants to behave like that then he may have to find somewhere else to do it.
IME the reason my DP kept doing it was tht I allowed him to. If I'd have made a point of only accepting it the first time and kicked him to the curb the second, I would think he would have begged me to take him back and never acted so stupid again.

And the phone thing, tbh, I've hadmy phone ring at what i thought was stupid o'clock and automatically ended the call, maybe he did that then realised where he was and answered the second time?

Possibly Tiny Tim.

Will definitely be taking your advice - we need a serious sit-down chat later ...when he can drag his arse out of bed that is!

(the kids are currently blasting 'stacey's mom' out in their bedroom though, so im taking a degree of comfort from that )
