to be extremely annoyed with dh ...

...for coming home at 9am this morning without so much as a text, never mind a phone call, to let me know that he wasn't coming home at all last night after a night out with 'the boys'!!

And i had to be out of the house to collect a gift for dd at 8am this morning ...needless to say i didn't get the gift i wanted for her

He gave a token apology and a brief explanation as to where he had been, before promptly taking himself off to bed - arrrrrrrghhhh.

So is it me, or am i right to be annoyed because dh thinks i'm making a fuss over nothing (not that i got the chance to even make a fuss ...)??

I would be furious. off to bed! Cheeky b**tard!

Saturn74 · 16/12/2007 13:25

Wow - what gift did you need to collect at 8am on a Sunday morning?

LuckyStarOfBethSalem · 16/12/2007 13:25

I don't think you're being unreasonable. I'd have been panicked if DP didn't get home when I thought he was.

Wait till he gets up (loud music is good for hangovers, lol ) and explain it to him, chances are he was a little drunk to take it in this morning.

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:26

Was a sale on that started at 8.00am - i had been planning it for weeks and missed all the best stuff

Yes i really panicked. I woke at 6am with the baby and realised that he wasn't home yet so rang him on his mobile - he put the phone down!!

Rang back and he answered so at least i knew he was safe ...then i got mad

binklebells · 16/12/2007 13:29

So where had he been then ?

BroccoliSpears · 16/12/2007 13:29

I would be utterly livid. Also crying, not speaking to him, cancelling Christmas and breathing into a paper bag.

Saturn74 · 16/12/2007 13:30

Very annoying.
And inconsiderate of him not to contact you at all.

CarmenerryChristmas · 16/12/2007 13:31

Where was he?

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:31

Apparantly he couldn't get a taxi home so slept at this mates.

Didn't get a full story though ...

OP posts:
binklebells · 16/12/2007 13:32

And he put the phone down because......?

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:33

Thats what i thought, he reckoned it was too late to ring ...i think if he was thinking as considerately as that then surely he could have texted

OP posts:
RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:33

Binkle - not sure about that

OP posts:
binklebells · 16/12/2007 13:34

I would seriously inclined to send him the spend christmas with his 'mate' then.

Is he for real??

CarmenerryChristmas · 16/12/2007 13:35

Oh dear, I would be furious and more than a little suspicious. There is no excuse for not letting you know he was staying with a friend.

binklebells · 16/12/2007 13:35

Not sure about what? Why he put the phone down?

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:37

Binkle - Yes, why he put the phone down.

He answered the second time i rang so i didn't dwell on why he didn't answer it the first time ...

At least i know that its not me over-reacting which is what he thinks

binklebells · 16/12/2007 13:39

No I'd be fuming in fact I would take the children up to his bed then take myself out for the day and let him act like a responsible parent instead of a bloody teenager!! I'm fuming for you!!!!

MrsWeasleysmagicmincepies · 16/12/2007 13:41

I'd go for notjustmom suggestion.

He hung up on you Does he do this often? Does he fancy becoming your EX DH?

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 16/12/2007 13:44

I went through this time and time again with EXDP. It's not on. I wouldn't accept his bollocks about it being 'too late' and I certainly wouldn't be impressed with him putting the phone down.
Has he done this before?

MrsWeasleysmagicmincepies · 16/12/2007 13:49

do you know it was actually HIM that put the phone down and not someone else answering his phone. Sorry but I dont beleive the story that he couldnt get a taxi and about it being too late to let you know!
Sorry but he has some major explaining to do!!

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:50

No, to be fair he hasn't done it before - i may need to do notjustmom's suggestion to make sure he doesn't do it again though ...

OP posts:
coppertop · 16/12/2007 13:50

How would he react if you stayed out all night and didn't call?

RudolphtheBluenosesaintdeer · 16/12/2007 13:53

No i don't know that it was definitely him who put the phone down

I have had no reason to suspect him of being anything other than an inconsiderate prick though ...maybe i'm being naive??
